| With anticipation now high on the upcoming new James Bond film Skyfall starring Daniel Craig, will the completed film survive without any cuts? There is a long history with the Bond films and the British Board of Film Classification, and listed below are just some of the scenes that the censors didn’t want you to see. Producers of the 007 movies had to cut scenes, redub dialogue and rewrite scripts because the British Board of Film Classification objected to some of the spy’s more risque exploits.

| Interesting stuff. Always thought the "in the shoulder" bit of that line in OHMSS sounded awkward. Guess that explains it. |

| I never knew that the LTK dvd in 2006 was the first uncut release. I didn't even notice the differences. |

| I pretty sure that LTK's first uncut DVD release was with the Special Edition DVD release in 2000/2001 (I might be wrong though).

| the cut to the title sequence to AVTAK doesn't make sense when I can see Full Breasts and Nipples in the title sequence of OP, released 2 years before AVTAK!! |

| I guess the censors ignored the titles mostly because of their uhh..titillating qualities... :pirat:
This finally explains why the audio in the mink glove scene is so degraded...originally removed in the UK. |

Nope, it was with the 2006 DVD. I think the only real standouts from the uncut version is that you see Leiter's stump leg and that you see Krest's head explode. Everything else is just bits and pieces, like when Dario drops in the cocaine grinder (see what I did there?). I'd like to see the uncut version of GE. Apparently there is an up close frame of Trevelyan's head getting shot during the PTS (confirming Orumov's gun had no blanks) I'm not sure how the filmmakers would have explained him surviving that. |

Where did you read that? That sounds really unlikely. |

Probably something to do with the bullet travelling through the medulla oblongata (which is nowhere near the front of the brain), killing off his senses one by one and stopping him from feeling pain. The bullet would eventually kill him, but he would grow stronger every day until the day he dies. Okay, I'm being facetious. But it's theoretically plausible - the forehead is one of the thickest parts of the skull, so if Ouroumov shot Trevelyan with a small-calibre weapon from some range, it's conceivable that Trevelyan might survive the injury long enough to get medical attention. But it would look ridiculous on-screen. A more-plausible explanation for it would be that the KGB equivalent of Q-Branch developed fake bullets that would explode in a bloody mess without actually causing injury so that they could stage the deaths of their own agents. However, it probably occurred to production very early on that the audience follows Bond through this scene, and because Bond has no reason to question Trevelyan's death as being anything but genuine, the audience has no reason to question it. Bond accepts that Trevelyan is dead, so the audience does. The hang-up is that this requires the Brozzer to actually act, though fortunately, GOLDENEYE was his best performance, and it's no problem. |

| Then there's just accepting that Ouromov has seemingly loaded his gun with both live rounds and blanks, seeing as how he shoots one of his own troops and Trevelyan with it ... |

| Shame they cut those lines from FRWL.
I wish they'd release uncut versions of some of these films, using what they can dig up (if anything). I was glad to get the uncut version of LTK back in 2006. If I recall correctly, if you wanted the film uncut previously, you needed to buy the Swedish VHS, or something like that. |

| Unfortunately most of the early cuts (1960s) have in all probability been lost or destroyed but I am glad that most (if not all) of the Bond films from the 1970s onwards have had their cuts re-instated. |

| Gun loaded with blanks and live ammo, perhaps with Trevelyan having a dry squib already rigged to simulate the wound. He sends Bond forward to plant the bomb while taking the backside to cover, as he can easily pretend to be captured and then killed form a obscured point so Bond would believe him dead.
I think LTK was available uncut previously on a pan n' scan Japanese Laserdisc and possibly a German one too IIRC.
I don't think that many things could be added/found nowadays, though it would be interesting to see some of the original end title cards proclaiming the proposed next film. |

That really gets my goat, EON monkeying with the end credits in re-releases and home video releases to accurately reflect which Bond film actually came next. |

| You would rather they took the George Lucas approach of editing and adding new content at every opportunity? |

What? Why is it a choice between minor edits or major edits upon re-release? |
