| Hope so.
Though, I'd hate to see who they get to replace him.
My guess is that he'll have no body hair, groomed eyebrows, a lisp, and a purse. |

"....He echoed these sentiments to MTV News this week, refusing to even talk about the possibility of “Bond 24” when the current film has yet to get a title or a permanent cast. “I’m always of the opinion that tomorrow could be my last day.”
But he’s willing to talk a little about the upcoming film, though he wouldn’t confirm or deny whether Javier Bardem or Ralph Fiennes were part of the cast, just that he was ready to go. “Listen, we’ve got a great script this time. I’m as excited about this script as I was about the ‘Casino Royale’ script. I think in Sam [Mendes] we’ve got the perfect director. The cast is coming together now. I can’t wait to get going on it really. I start in two weeks time.”"
"This time"? What is he trying to say? That Quanturd of Solace did not have a great script? If so, I would agree. |

If so, I would agree. the party line is to blame the shorcomings of QOS on the writers strike, which may be fair enough? lack of quality dialogue and development was a particular failing of that movie relative to CR whereas although I also dislike shaky cam and quick cutting and fiddling with the colour, they are all a failing across the entire Action genre at present, and seems to have wide audience acceptance, therefore, in the context of a Bond discussion, I have to accept them as a sign of the times, rather than a specific Bond franchise failing I agree with Craig not discussing the future beyond B23, lets concentrate on the business at hand for cats sake! it's like asking a player what club he's going to be at next year just before the grand final, it's an unnecessary distraction |

He's been doing this for the past 2-3 months in various interviews, saying the script wasn't all it could be. He blames the writers strike. Personally, I think there are problems that have nothing to do with the script, but that's the talking point now: a concession QoS wasn't all it could be (some fans will still object to that, Craig comment or no Craig comment), but it was all because of the strike. |

I agree that it's a talking point, but it's always interesting to watch stars sell a current or future project by criticizing a previous one, even if the criticism is oh-so-subtle as it was in this case. I suspect as we get deeper into the production of BOND-23 that the criticism of QOS by all involved will become more pronounced. And it's not something unusual to just Craig; Brosnan used to do this all the time: trash the previous Bond film in order to sell the current one. Current talking points are: Great script Great director Future talking points: "Best leading lady I've worked with yet" "You really get to know Bond in this film; you get to peel back the emotional layers like an onion" "She's unlike any Bond Girl before her; she is so strong and independent; like she's on her own mission in her own movie" "We really wanted to get back to Fleming on this story" |

| Another repeated talking point is "this Bond woman is a three-dimensional character, not a brainless bimbo." and "this time she's Bond's equal." They've been using that one since at least 1997 (when Tomorrow Never Dies was produced and it was a recurring theme amongst the cast and crew quoted in a USA Today story at the time). It got rehashed again in 2008, and again in USA Today, with a big story.
I've always found it unusual that the marketing plan seems to be to trash your own previous movies. |

| There's a persistent sense of shame emanating from EON. The production team seem to think the Bond films are something they need to apologize for. After QoS, I think they're damn right. |

A friend of mine has predicted that when Bond is recast (whenever that occurs), Eon will say "we're going back to the James Bond of the novels." |
