- A Bond villain’s lair: Project Utopia sea-based luxury house
Remember the James Bond movie, The Spy Who Love Me? If you do, you’ll recall the villain in that flick and his nautical base, Stromberg and Atlantis respectively. It’s not a million likes away from Project Utopia.
This is essentially a custom build – if you want it and have the money for it, Yacht Island Design and BMT Nigel Gee will construct it for you. But be warned, you’ll need a serious stash of cash to get it. This isn’t just a boat, this is a floating luxury house, with everything you could ever desire.
Measuring 100m in length and breadth, and spanning over 11 luxury decks, each ‘leg’ supports a thruster, allowing Project Utopia to move between various locations at slow speeds, while large central structure moors the structure when you find your ideal location. So your home is wherever you want it to be. As for access, there’s a wet dock (where Bond can sneak in) or several helicopter pads. Because you’ll have plenty of those.
Aside from that, Project Utopia hosts 70 crew and 16 guests, has a top speed of 15 knots and has four major spaces which make up the external deck and communal areas: ‘Casino Square’, ‘Loews Hotel’, ‘The Oasis’, and ‘The Grand Atrium’. There’s also two large tender garages to store all manner of launches, offshore power boats, jet skis etc, a dive dock and submarine, deployed from one of the submerged hulls, a multi configurable sports court sized to championship tennis regulations, which also doubles as a heli-pad and ample crew quarters including a gym and private sun terrace.
As we said, no price, as each one is custom-built. But if you happen to be a Euromillions winner or have just ‘made good’, Project Utopia could be yours in the space of a year or so. http://www.wowhaus.co.uk/2011/11/20/a-bond-villains-lair-project-utopia-sea-based-luxury-house/ |

My first requirement for putting a down payment on an apartment in this place would be to make sure that people who use words like "ho", "bling" or "crib" can't get in, no matter how much money they have. I'm trying to get away from those types. |
