Supposedly the first pic of Daniel Day Lewis in make-up.

If it's half as good as Ford's Young Mr. Lincoln, it'll be worthwhile.
Killer cast. Anything with both David Strathairn and Bruce McGill is by default a top-notch cast.

John Williams should collaborate with Electric Six.

Brief interview with Williams about the score and film.

I remain quite interested in seeing this film partly out of interest in the Civil War but just for Day-Lewis.

I"m very curious about this movie, but so far no trailers...no teasers. I read about 3/4ths of Doris Kearns-Goodwin's novel, TEAM OF RIVALS, and tried to check the book out again, but the library wouldn't let me hold onto it past my due date (serves me right for being honest and bringing it back to the library after 3 weeks); other people were wanting to read it.

Who knew Daniel Day-Lewis could do *that* voice? He sounds nothing like himself.
It definitely looks like a Spielberg picture, for better and for worse.

Honestly, Williams' score is the one thing that doesn't really work for me in that trailer.

I'm not altogether quite sure. It just seems a bit much, at least in the context of this trailer.

I kinda agree with. It worked well for me up until 1:07 (I believe the track there is called "Appomattox, April 9, 1865"), which is where I take it the prologue/epilogue music begins ("The People’s House"). Sort of laid it on there to thick, though I think the music will work fine by itself.

Is the whole score out already?
I do think Williams' score will play better in the film than in the trailer, which, by virtue of being an advertisement, tries to evoke big emotions without having actually earned them.
