...put a Teaser Trailer for Skyfall in front of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

I understand that filming just begin but it doesn't take a lot of footage to do a teaser trailer.

Here's some past Bond films teaser trailers and some of them don't have much filmed footage

A trailer after 1.5 months of filming? I don't think that's ever happened with Bond (or any other big budget action flick).

Exactly. They have essentially nothing to show.

I forgot how good that DAD teaser trailer was.

We won't be seeing a teaser until May at the earliest. I'd expect it in front of either Men In Black 3 or The Amazing Spiderman in July.

I think the more challenging question here is why j7 felt the need to post seven teaser trailers completely unrealted to SKYFAL.

But is there enough interesting footage for a teaser? So far it's mostly talky scenes, they haven't filmed much action yet have they?

Sure, they don't need a lot of footage in the can, but what have they shot so far that would draw people in? I don't think footage of Craig standing on top of a building or swimming laps in a pool would accomplish much.

Have you actually watched those trailers? Take the DIE ANOTHER DAY one for example: it contains over a hundred shots of footage from Iceland, London, Wales (North Korea), Hawaii (the surfing) and Cuba, and most of it featuring explosions. That's a lot of shooting, and most of it very technical - more than what they could accomplish in six weeks (unless they only shot the trailer, in which case it would be wasteful).

And all those trailers were released plenty of months after filming started so there was plenty of footage to use.

At the end of the AVTAK trailer, Bond introduces himself to Pola in the tub... That wasn't in the film was it? Because they recognised each other prior to that.... Interesting...

I do this all the time.

Judi Dench on the WC. I assume this scene has been filmed, since I've seen a clapperboard in a public toilet and shots of the Denchster. Just show her on the bog while talking to Bond on the phone about duty and irresponsibility, and you've got a teaser, and then slap that infront of the Dragon TAttoo whatsit, and then you'll get bums on seats. Because clearly EON have had trouble getting people to the last two Bond films.
