Anyone else watching this? I think it's even more hilarious if you're a Bond fan.
I actually believe having Mallory as his mother is a commentary on the relationship between M and Bond in recent Bond movies.

Yeah, I like this ... sort of the 'wrongness' of Family Guy's humour crossed with Bondian spy stuff. It can be very, very funny.

The sad (yet somehow also amusing) reality is that Sterling Archer (with his lack of PC-ness, shameless womanizing and constant drinking) is probably closer in spirit to the original Bond than anything EON has produced in the last three decades.

Anyone else seen the season finale? References to Animal Farm, Alien, LotR and Star Wars. Yet somehow they missed the most obvious one. A spy show heavily based on Bond does an episode on a space station and not one wink to Moonraker?

Does this show have any new fans since I originally posted this thread? I'm surprised it doesn't get more love. So many great lines.

Haven't been keeping up with it after the first season, but I loved what I saw. It's definitely a treat for Bond fans.

Yeah, been watching it quite a bit lately. I love it, first thing on TV that's made me genuinely laugh in a while.

Been catching up with this on Netflix. Funny how characters such as Cheryl the choker are permitted in animation and real life, but not in TV drama.
Show really came alive for me with the naked girl on the snowmobile. That could have been classic Bond.

It's one of my all time favourite shows. I think the best element is that although the characters are all standard comedy buffoons and fuck-ups, when the chips are down they are actually good at what they do. I like that. Like, Archer is an asshole, but not altogether incompetent.
It's definitely the best Bond parody in ages because it's a little bit cleverer at how to satirize the man than the average attempts.

It was either on 5USA or 5* in the UK, but I haven't spotted it on either for a while.

Archer is not politically incorrect in all areas: on the evidence of the episodes I've seen the only two competent characters are Lana Kane and Ray Gillette, a black woman and gay man respectively. Still, I recognise and appreciate Cheryl and Pam - every office I've ever worked in has had women like that. Perhaps without the firestarter tendencies.
Well they do poke fun at that kind of PC-ness as well. In the Conway Stern episode, for instance.

Is this ever going to be broadcasted on UK TV?

I'm surprised if it isn't. With Bond's popularity in the UK having skyrocketed since SF, you'd think a channel would pick up that show.

What was your take on the last season? I have to say I thought it was a step back from the ISIS days, though it still had its moments, obviously.

They ruined the Pam and Cheryl characters to a certain extent as well. Though Cheryl still managed to remain Cheryl, even in her new country music guise.
