Just curious about the ads. Does the site benefit from having them? Like those pay for the site to run... or does it make money if we click on them?

Also, is there any harm in actually clicking them that we should be warning members about?

I don't have a problem with them. I'm quite used to them on the interwebs these days. But I was curious and thought we could cover it sooner rather than later.

The ads probably weren't chosen by the administrator. They're up on the top so Forum Motion can make money and keep these free sites going.

I clicked one the other day. Nothing happened to my PC. I did submit my name, address, credit card number, pin, etc., though, and will be expecting a new iPhone in the mail soon.

They don't bother me... just curious about them. I'm sometimes tempted to shoot at the iPhones though.

That's exactly right. It only started happening a few months ago. Until then, Forumotion sites didn't have any ads. Like you said, it'll be to generate revenue to keep these sites free and easy.

As with all internet ads though, it's perhaps best not to click on them, even if they tell you you've won money. It'll be a scam.

The ads don't always appear to me though. Maybe your computer settings can help there.

I only see a banner ad. I can ignore that. So long as we don't get pop ups!
