Kurylenko and Christiensen have not been confirmed for BOND 24. Nor has anything to do with water or Quantum been announced. |

| Perhaps this thread should be retitled "What you'd like to see in Bond 24". It would be unfortunate if someone might take that info MBalje has and start spreading rumors.
Not on this forum. |

In which case, it's pretty much a carbon copy of this thread. |

Yup. This thread is much broader. What allies would you like to see, return, maybe even characters who haven't been used outside the books like Gala Brand. It's a free for all speculation thread. |

Not on this forum. You changed my directer poll too ? Because i ask who you ''think'' going to direct Bond 24, not who do you ''Whant'' to be. If you whant correct the poll back to the original quistion. Whyle i think What you'd like to see in Bond 24 fit better for this thread then ''sights'' thread, with this thread i whant go about facts and things we mabey also can expect. (Because of fandom experience we can say something we already sjure about with crew credits. Another source is Casino Royale/QOS.) Discus what we whant and remour (Is Eve Moneypenny) is of course the meaning of forums, but i agree that i don't whant spreading rumors. If you be afraid for spoilers i think you should be more carefull with the Skyfall picture thread and spoilers i don't whant to discus in this thread. |

| If I had to narrow my list of what I wanted to see in BOND 24 down to just one thing, it would be this: a thriller.
I think Bond needs to move away from action. By all means, include it - but it shouldn't be the focus. When you start pushing the envelope too far, you get ice dragsters and Bond falling out of aeroplanes without parachutes, and it just gets too over-the-top. Don't get me wrong; I really like a well-executed scene that does something I have never seen before (like MOONRAKER's pre-title sequence), and doubly so when it's done for real and I'm left scratching my head wondering how they pulled it off ... but there is a limit.
Take, for example, QUANTUM OF SOLACE. There's very little actual plot until Bond gets to Austria, and Greene is introduced. I think the film could have done very well by making a mystery out of Greene's identity and his intentions, but after the opera scene, there was virtually no plot until Bond and Camille discovered the underground dams.
Instead, I want to see soemthing with actual stakes to play for. I want to be be on the edge of my seat wondering if Bond will survive, even though I know he will because he's James Bond. I want to care about the other characters and about what happens to them - for example, I didn't really care as to whether Camille or Fields lived or died in QOS. In fact, I think the last characters I really cared about were Kara and Natalya. And I want to see a villain who absolutely has to get it in the neck. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when an episode of "Law & Order" can do this better than a Bond film.
EDIT: 1000 posts! |

I'd like to see a return to the Bond girl who gets caught up in the plot inadvertently (like Kara or Natalya) rather than through her profession or personal motives. |

| Yes, I'd like that also.
And I'd like a ski chase. Yes, of course if the script calls for it, there is a good reason to, blah blah. I just want a damn good ski chase. |

| Don't shoot me down (just yet - please, hear me out first), but something that I think would work realy well is a Ken Block-style gymkhana sequence. I know Block is lumped into the same bracket as Christopher Nolan with the attitude of "he was clever to begin with, but then he became popular, so now he must be hated" from the internet, but if the sequence was right, I think it could work.
For example, Bond needs to catch up with the villain, who is currently on-board a luxury yacht and leaving a nearby harbour. His only chance to catch up with them is to get to the end of a nearby pier and somehow find a way to get onto the moving yacht (probably something like a crane that he could use to swing down onto the deck of the yacht). The only problem is that the pier is covered in a labyrinth of shipping containers and machinery, and there is no direct path from Bond's position to the end of the pier. His only choice is to drive up, over, around and through the obstacles in his way. And so we get a precision driving sequence - with bad guys in tow - as Bond tries to navigate his way to the end of the pier before the yacht passes. |

| A good fight scene without the Jason Bourne editing and slow motion effects.
The fight scene in FRWL is still the best fight scene in the entire Bond film franchise. |

| This time it's NOT personal.
Transpose the emotive elements onto another character. |

| Maybe this is a bit daft, but I've wanted to see a snowmobile chase for a while now - but across terrain that is equal parts snowy/icy and water. And the thing is, Q has issued Bond with a snowmobile that becomes a jetski at the flick of a switch (I could be wrong, but the 2 seem like fairly similar vehicles to me and the technology seems maybe feasible). |

Actually, there is no need for that at all. If you are riding a snowmobile and hit the water at the correct angle and speed, the snowmobile will actually continue on the water as if it were still on snow. I think Top Gear did it once. |

Well, there you go ... that even fits Craig's less 'gadgety' Bond, although who knows what Whishaw's Q will bring? |

I doubt we'll see Judi Dench as M as the actress suffers a sort of blindness problem and
SPOILER
it has been rumored she'll die in Skyfall. |

| Had an idea for a killer action sequence - extreme canyoning, which is basically whitewater rafting ... without the raft. Bond and a villain fall into fast-moving water and must survive an endless series of rapids without any kind of floatation device whilst trying to kill one another. |

Yeah, I think you and me have commented several times before on the desire for a good snow mobile chase. I don't think we've really ever had one. Bond was pursued by the Russians on a snowmobile in AVTAK, but it wasn't him on a snowmobile being chased by others on a snowmobile. What I'd really like to see is ICEBREAKER adapted, but that's not going to happen. However, even if EON won't do a straight adaption of IB, they could still use the team concept in the film, where Bond has to partner with agents from other organizations to defeat a common enemy. I'd also like to see NOBODY LIVES FOREVER adapted. I'm reading a book right now called SCARECROW by Matthew Reilly that reminds me of NLF, and it made me wish EON would pick up this story and develop it. The idea of Bond being the target of a game of international bounty hunters is intriguing. Incidentally, this book I'm reading, SCARECROW, has some massive action sequences that would be really interesting in a Bond film. |

Ah, Scarecrow. It certainly has some ambitious action sequences, but it's a very tiring book. - Spoiler:
By the time Mother and Book II get to London, I was worn out from all the constant action, and it only gets all the mroe insane from that point on. Especially the finale.
Reilly does go bonkers at times. I'm assuming you have read some of his other stuff? If not, I strongly recommend you check out Temple and Ice Station, though you should probably skip the Jack West trilogy ( Seven Ancient Wonders was decent, but The Six Sacred Stones and The Five Greatest Warriors sucked). |
