| Wow really. I quite liked THE LAST BOY SCOUT, also one of the few films that gave me real belly laughs. |

| I don't think I can put up a list of "worst" films, but maybe some that were REALLY torturous to watch. It's kinda difficult to recall them all, as I've blocked them out.
Alphabetical...
CRASH (2005) KING KONG (2005) MILLION DOLLAR BABY (2004) SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE (2008)
Hell, there are more.
Responding to some mentioned above...
THE BIG LEBOWSKI... Wow. One of the funniest films I've ever seen. I do know a guy who hates it because he says it dishonors veterans or something.
JAWS 3D. A pure cheese delight as far as I'm concerned, with a young Lea Thompson taboot. I'd probably rather watch it than JAWS 2.
ROAD HOUSE? How can anyone hate ROAD HOUSE? |

| At first I read ELEPHANT MAN.
I thought ELEPHANT was revolting.
Haven't seen KILL BILL VOL. 1 in a few years. On my last try I thought it was one of the most boring films I'd ever seen. Never made it through VOL. 2.
PRECIOUS. Wasn't big on that one.
Might as well throw out STAR TREK (2009), but I don't want to derail things. I only hope someday more people will realize that the emperor has no clothes and it's got one of the worst, most incoherent scripts ever thrown a considerable amount of money at. Maybe if I weren't a Trek fan I'd find it amusing in an AIRPORT '79/SUPERMAN III fashion.

I think you're in the minority. To me it was the only one worth watching in some time. The one immediately before was a complete turd. |

It's certainly not the first bad Trek movie. Some might call that an understatement. I don't get mad that people enjoy it, I realy don't. But I think it's a very badly-written movie. As for bad movies. I look at lists of "bad" movies and find stuff that I enjoy. Like SUPERMAN III, or Ed Wood movies, or SHOWGIRLS. |

ENTER THE VOID\ Yep, that's a genuine piece of shit, too. I was going to add 2 OR 3 THINGS I KNOW ABOUT HER to my list, but it doesn't come anywhere near the worst films ever made. It's just boring, pretentious, and good-looking. |

| I was accused of being a racist once for not liking CRASH. I wish I could find the interview clip where Haggis talks about a car full of black men pulling up beside him, and he wondered whether or not he should roll up his window. I still get a kick out the fact that he created a show starring Chuck Norris. |

| There's a correlation between overt, senseless, political correctness and poor quality in cinema.

Unlike guilty pleasures like ACTION JACKSON, I think of LAST BOY SCOUT as just a pleasure. To me the Hallenbeck character is really good and Willis handles it just right. There are certainly elements that put the movie over the top as it goes along, just like the truck stuff at the end of LTK, but in both cases there is enough cred up front to carry the thing through. Not sure if I could come up with 10 off the top of my head, but #1 has always been THE FANTASTIC INVASION OF PLANET EARTH, a mid70s re-titling of a 60s SF called THE BUBBLE. The poster had a guy with a blonde in one hand and a .45 in the other, shooting at a flying saucer overhead. There are no hot blondes (a pregnant one), no .45s and no flying saucers. Some really bad 3D effects, has Michael Cole, and was done by Arch Obeler (clearly not his best day.) Absolutely godawful, makes SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME look like HARDWARE WARS by comparison. I'm trying to be nice there, i LIKE HARDWARE WARS. Also, at the time I thought MOONRAKER was one of the worst things I'd ever seen. Took me a long while to accept it for its good points -- the girl chased by the dogs, some ingenious fx and the Ken Adam art direction -- and to shine on (or fastforward past) everything else. WING COMMANDER and WILD WILD WEST were movies I wrote about and HAD to see ... and saw nothing redeeming in either, outside of some good ILM vfx in the latter. |
