| Truly sad news. At least she did seem to lead a fulfilled life even outside of the spotlight for many years. I do think she was hugely underrated as an actress and felt it was a shame she got so little dramatic roles outside of the cute films, musicals and rom coms. Thus while I love her in anything I could never latch onto most of her films. Her inherent strengths are really crucial to the 1956 MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH and even Hitchcock felt she was one of the best actresses he ever worked with. |

| Turns out we lost Rip Torn on July 9. I only found out flicking through Time magazine weirdly enough. Not everyone's cup of tea, but the man seemed great in his way. A true character and a great loss. |

R.I.P. David Hedison, still one of the only two actors to have played Felix Leiter in the Bond series more than once. |

| He would have been an excellent Bond villain, perhaps even the Blofield by which all others would have been judged. RIP, Rutger Hauer.

| Great loss. I liked him right down to the Guinness adverts he did. He was the one redeeming feature of the Fatherland adaptation. |

A truly memorable performance in Blade Runner.
Too right, Hilly, regarding the Fatherland adaptation. Hauer did admirably, but it was a shockingly bad film. |

| Glad to see I'm not alone. I re-read the book most years and it's a shocking film. Today it'd have been a nice mini-series. Shame Hauer was wasted in it, really. |

| A grand presence in anything and everything. His eyes showed such bemusement and spoke of a challenge to society at large. He will be sorely missed. |

I had no idea, sadly, he was the hoodlum in DAF that has the infamous "I've got a brudda" line. |

| R.I.P. Dave 'Darth Vader' Prowse ... had the pleasure of meeting him at a convention once, took the opportunity to thank him for what he'd meant to my childhood. Absolute gentleman.
For those of us of a certain age in the UK, his 'Green Cross Code Man' was the face of road safety in the 70s and 80s. He was also Chris Reeve's personal trainer for Superman and appeared in the likes of Hammer movies, Doctor Who and A Clockwork Orange. |

| Very sad loss. I met him very briefly in Hamley's toy shop back in 2005. Remember him from the odd non-SW thing like Space 1999. Not many can claim to have been so famous without seeing his face or hear his voice. |

| I'm a few days late, but I've also been a big Police Academy fan since childhood (first three or so in any event, but the first one especially). Quite a few of the cast have passed over the years sadly. Funny how the 80's seemed like a different world to me as a kid even though it was the recent past then, and yet now Police Academy is nearly 40 years old! Just mental.
R.I.P. Ms Ramsey. |

| Same here. Police Academy 2 came out year I was born and saw mostly 3-6 often in the 90s. Quite fond of the first one and that feels another era, late 70s at best. I've seen a few interviews with Ramsey and was always surprised that her real voice was completely different.
I figure we've lost Gaynes, Graf, Bubba Smith and Andrew Rubin (George Martin in the first film only) of the main cast and only Gaynes from old age/natural causes. |
