| Poor Brozza, his GE cover looks like something for softcore porn or a chick flick. |

| With a few exceptions these are way, way better than the previous ones. FYEO, LTK, and TWINE are all horrible though. |

| HMV UK is offering a complete collection of movie-poster Artcards as a throw in for buying the set. This is a very nice touch as the box set appears to be a collection of discs, but with the Artcards we get the original poster art, and in a decently large size too by the looks of it. http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;0;-1;-1;-1&sku=517180 |

I quite like some of these, especially OHMSS. Honestly, I like what they were going for on the covers. Simple and iconic. That said, some of them are better than the others. They could've toned it down a bit with some of the Photoshop tools. |

It's okay where some of the sleeves have used genuine shots from the film or promotional shots from the film in question, but it's just a shame that the title fonts have been altered again on some of them, for example On Her Majesty's Secret Service, whose sleeve would be perfectly acceptable otherwise. The best marriage of shot and font for me is the From Russia With Love sleeve. |

| Heck I'm going back to my favorites, the 90's VHS covers that were re-used for the SE discs. They had a simplicity and certain elegance to them, despite being manufactured. Though you can't go any worse than the redone one they did for OP. Awful. |

| I love these. Contemporary and stylish. EON should incinerate every physical or digital copy of the dated, old posters and replace them with these.
Time for Bond fans to join the 21st century. |

First, we've got a major Bond 50 Blu-ray update for you this morning. We've confirmed with our sources at 20th Century Fox that nearly all special feature content from the previous Special Edition Blu-rays and DVDs will carry over to the new BD releases. The only exceptions are the Mission Control menu-based content from the previous DVDs, many items from Charles de Lauzirika's original 2003 Die Another Day: Special Edition and 5 items from the 2008 Casino Royale: Collector's Edition BD (The Art of the Freerun, Catching a Plane: From Storyboard to Screen, Storyboard Sequence: Freerun Chase, Filmmaker Profiles and Bond Girls Are Forever). So if you have those discs and want to retain all the bonus content, definitely keep them.
We've also confirmed that the 11 classic Bond titles previously released on Blu-ray will be available widely again on 10/2, the same day as the box set. We already know that Walmart will have 3 of the never-before-released titles as BD exclusives that day: Diamonds Are Forever, Octopussy and GoldenEye. We've now OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED exactly what we suspected, which is that Best Buy will have On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me as BD exclusives on 10/2, and Target will have A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Tomorrow Never Dies as BD exclusives. So that's our Bond news for today. Again, that's official.
(I know where I'll be on 10/2: Target) |

| Let's cut to the chase: does anyone have links to websites or forums where people have put together blu-ray cover art that we can download, print, and insert into our sleeves instead of this awful crap? This is beyond my worst expectations. |

(I know where I'll be on 10/2: Target) Darn. I liked the menus for the Special Editions but I guess they're outdated by now or something. Wonder why they're ditching all that content. Do they no longer have the rights? |

Must be something FOX can't touch. When they released the UE set in 2006 there was new features added for DAD but nothing from the 2003 SE was carried over. SONY did the release for CR while QOS was by FOX. So I guess any of the post-1999 films that FOX didn't work on will not be allowed to release the material on their sets. It's pretty weird. I don't understand why a deal can't be reached between the two.. |

| The Mission Control thing was incredibly stupid. It was just clips from the film shoved onto Disc 2, and you had to sit through tons of silly animated menus just to get to the little 20 second clips that you already know by heart and just watched on Disc 1. However the exotic locations option actually was new material that discussed the shooting locations of that particular film for 5 minutes or so, and the majority of these were narrated by Maud Adams. |

Yup. Pretty useless. The only good thing to come out of that was including the title sequence without the credits being displayed (except for FRWL of course). |

| Anyone having trouble playing the new blu ray discs? I bought AVTAK, TLD and TND, and so far AVTAK and TLD's "Declassified Vault" section plays, but the image reduces to 1/6th the size of the screen and shrinks up into the top left corner. The movie itself plays fine and is vivid color, great audio, on my widescreen flat tv, but the special features so far are shrinking up in to the top left corner. I tried Googling this but haven't come across anyone else noticing the problems. |

| I haven't come across them yet, as I just finished YOLT. I'll look into it later to see if I have any trouble, but this is the first time I've heard of this problem. |

The manufacturer is sending me a firmware upgrade. I bought the blu-ray back in 2008. So, it's all good (hopefully). I was pleasantly surprised to get AVTAK and TND for only 9.99 at Target, and TLD for 14.99. Walmart did not have any of the Bond blu rays on sale, and Best Buy had the deluxe collectors set but no individual discs for purchase. I'll try back later in the week. I did find Alien Anthology on blu ray on sale for only 29.99  That's practically stealing! I bought it in anticipation of PROMETHEUS next week. So far the Bond Blu rays have been worth the purchase. Still a lot to get into and go through. There were a lot of extras that never came with the special edition dvds back in 1999 and 2000, which was the last time I purchased the Bond films. |

| Since you're upgrading from the SE DVDs you'll definitely find lots and lots of new features and vintage TV specials like The Incredible World of James Bond that aired on NBC just a few weeks before Thunderball came out. They even included ads for toys like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sUwovyBsVU |

| I am pleased to say, my Bond blu-ray collection is now complete. I picked up the 9 previously unreleased North American blu-rays this week. Great deal. Amazon put all 9 titles on sale for $8.49 each. That is the cheapest that I have seen any Bond blu-rays. And as Python pointed out, those of us upgrading from the SE editions are getting the UE edition bonus features for the first time. The 9 previously unreleased titles btw for those not aware are: YOLT, OHMSS, DAF, TSWLM, OP, AVTAK, TLD, GE and TND. Needless to say I am going bonkers over watching YOLT, OHMSS and DAF, especially in Hi-Def, although I did manage to see all three of these titles in big screen hi-def at the just concluded Tiff Designing Bond festival, which was probably the hi-lite of my humble life. I am not exaggerating. So nothing beats that. Meantime YOLT and OHMSS 4k blu-ray are out of this world. DAF is up next. Picked up SF blu for $19.99 too, so I am fully Bond-blu compliant.:) I am now in the midst of a Bond bluathon. The first 6 movies are done. I will continue watching in order, and enjoy the new blu's and their "new" features as I come to them. Life is good. And even though I am not a SF fan, this film sure looks good on blu. It's very watchable even if there is way too much Dench and Bond needs a shave, but I digress. |

| Still waiting for individual Blu releases here. All they've released individually on Blu from the pre-CR films are the five which were previously available separately anyway or in the previous box set (DN, FRWL, TB, FYEO, LALD & DAD). Good news is that those six titles are only £4.99 each in HMV, so hopefully the same price will apply when stuff like TLD, LTK etc get released. |
