| I have decided, if thats ok, to create a new thread where we can link to all of the SF reviews as many will began to flood in due to tonights press screening and will no doubt surface on this site very soon. According to the sentence long reviews on 'Twitter', so far about 99.99% loved it and many felt that it was the best Bond film ever but we will just have to wait and see whether or not it can beat TLD (don't bet on it ;) ).

| The reactions seem to be astonishingly positive. Lots of folks claiming it's Craig's best.
FWIW, a few of the Twitter folks--Kevin Maher and Nick Setchfield--are claiming SKYFALL has no gunbarrel opening. |

| I bet (and hope) that they are bluffing, or that it was an incomplete version of the film. With the gunbarrel featuring so prominently in all of the promotional material as well as the more-or-less universal cries for its return in its rightful place it would be a massive kick in the balls if it wasn't. Finally, didn't a few pictures and a few seconds of the sequence being shot surface in Greg Williams 'Bond on Set' book as well as in the 'Secrets of Skyfall' ten-minute preview video?
BTW, here is the worlds first (official) review of SF by "shudder" 'The Sun':

| Nick Setchfield has confirmed that SKYFALL has a gunbarrel, but it's not at the beginning: - Quote :

* It's in there, but not where it needs to be! |

| Grrrrrrrr...
let me guess, it is becuse Bond "becomes Bond" at the end of the film (for the third time running!!!) I could understand the reasoning behind changing/moving it in CR but there is just no excuse for it in QOS and now in SF. |

| An awfully written review here by 'The Standard' if anybody wants to read it:
http://www.standard.co.uk/arts/film/first-review-of-skyfall-007s-return-is-premium-bond-8209838.html
From now on I will simply edit all new-found reviews onto my original post and if anybody else finds any that I may have missed then simply post them here and I shall add them later (unless you are a moderator, if so then just stick them on there anyway).

Hmmmm....that'll be interesting to see how it is shown in the film. I want to say I noticed that in the trailer and picked up on it and mentioned it, but I can't find the post where I said it. I seem to remember someone saying that about Silva, but can't remember who. |

| Just from a few snippets here and there in those reviews, I think this is going to push those moments I really like in Q0S away enough that I'll be able to conclude the whole Craig era isn't Bond at all, any more than Abrams really did STAR TREK.
Am still looking forward to Shanghai like mad, but that and watching the miniature work have just become my interests; I'm going in with low expectations now, not guarded ones. This REALLY sounds like the Logan I feared & expected, the guy who singlehandedly wrote STAR TREK NEMESIS and BATS. |

| Reviews sound good but it's time to put the gunbarrel back at the beginning again. - James Bond wrote:

So Silva's openly gay?
I'm sure some of the anti-PC crowd 'round these parts will have a field day with that. |

Wint and Kidd were two of the best villains in the franchise, though. Don't see how it'd be a problem. Along as he's a menacing character, then I don't give a damn.

| The gunbarrel thing at the end pisses me off, but if they're going to do it here as well they might as well keep it at the end for the remainder of Craig's film as some kind of bullshit, stylistic decision. |

Yeah, that's fucking bullshit. I thought Mendes was a Bond fan. |

| Yeah the Gunbarrel at the end is nonsense, bring it back to the beginning. Make it a proper Bond adventure.
I understand why the did it with CR. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for Qos, but come on.... |

I don't particularly care for Sam Mandes work, but I'll be interested to see the full film, at least. I don't neccesarily doubt it will be good, but I'm skeptical whether it will be fun. |

I'd say the PC crowd might have a field day, finding it hurtful that the Bond filmmakers introduce a new gay character and he's an evil villain instead of some peaceful free thinking happy dude who gives Bond sage advice. |

Nice to read this in the Empire review -
It’s a reading of the role that comes from the later Ian Fleming novels, the ones that had their titles used on films which otherwise threw away the material, and much of Skyfall feels like the kind of post-John Buchan/Bulldog Drummond thrillers Fleming wrote rather than the fantastical, science fictionish films which grew out of them.

| From The Hollywood Reporter: ...he entertains the ladies less here than perhaps any Bond ever has. But two other women, his boss and the Queen, have first call on his favors....THR gave it a great review, so don't confuse the quote with criticism; it's an observation, but it's one I suspected for a while. Namely that Bond only has sex with two Bond Girls: Berenice Merlot and Tonia Sotiropoulou, not Naomi Harris. Why not Naomi Harris? - Spoiler:
Because she's Moneypenny. So I'm assuming that the non-sexual aspect of Bond and Moneypenny's relationship is the one constant that all involved decided to keep intact.
Also, I'm not sure how much screen time either lead Bond Girl has. Neither Merlot nor Harris appear in any of the action sequences in the last half of the film from what I can surmise. We all have our suspicisions about why that is the case with Merlot, but Harris - Spoiler:
is alive at the end of the movie and we know she's coming back for the next film. Can't say the same about Merlot.
My hunch is that this will be the third straight Bond film where Bond and the Girl don't end up in any each others arms as we fade into the credits. Sounds like the last 10 minutes are going to be full-on, emotionally-heavy scenes designed to give Dame Judi a rousing sendoff. This does seem like it's truly going to be about her exit from the series. |

| This one reassure me quite a bit. - Quote :
- Indeed, for all its intimations of mortality and harping on obsolescence, Skyfall is more often than not a hoot, Craig having the confidence at last to lace his Bond’s killer instinct with a bone-dry wit and wry nonchalance.
The scene where he contemplates utilising one of the series' oldest and most famous gizmos is a perfectly judged grace note, while an appearance from Albert Finney near the end of the picture exudes warmth and good humour. http://www.totalfilm.com/reviews/cinema/skyfall |
