Thread title says it all, what actresses who auditioned for or turned down Bond films do you think would've been interesting?
I always thought Lesley-Anne Down, Georgina from "Upstairs/Downstairs", would've been a fantastic Bond girl, low-and-behold she turned them down twice, from her website:
Quote :
Over the years you have been in a number of great movies, but have you ever thought of appearing in a Bond movie or another whodunnit? LAD: I was aksed to be a Bond girl twice. But in the 70's if you wanted to be taken seriously as an actress you didn't do Bond films. Oh my how things have changed!
And to be fair, she probably had a point, of course, apparently these days she's on The Bold & The Beautiful, so obviously that worked out for her. Still, in a parellel universe...
(Not her best work, but there's nothing else on Youtube, and it captures how fuckable she was in the 70s)

Monica Bellucci could have been a great Bond girl, though I'm more than happy with Teri Hatcher.

Jacqueline Bisset (the 67 CR doesn't really count.)
Elizabeth Hurley and Catherine Zeta Jones, which is how I would have cast TWINE.
May-be Samantha Eggar. Depends on the character.
Catherine McCormack and Rachel Weisz

No, her voice goes with her expression. Really fits the Vesper descrip for me in terms of that inflammatory "tang of rape" line, she had an edge during the 70s that really worked.

She was never a convincing actress. Very bangable, yes, but I would want her talking.

Yvonne Monlaur (who Erica will no doubt remember from her Hammer Horror career) auditioned for the role of Domino in TB. I rather think that turned out fine, it's hard to imagine anyone other than Auger for that part.
I also find it hard to believe that Claudia Cardinale would have never been asked during Connery's tenure. Especially considering their preference for European actresses during that stretch.

Don't know if all of these would've been realistic, but I would've loved to see:
