Larry David vs Michael J. Fox
"If I go up there he won't be Michael J. Fox, he'll be Michael J. Fucked Up!"
quite a fun episode with typical Larry moments. MJF is a trooper ("When was the last time you saw one of my films in the cinema?"). Season 9...well, we'll have to wait until next year I guess.

Palestinian Chicken on More4 tonight. Bloody funny episode,, even the subplot with Larry tasked (as a Social Assasin) to stop someone saying LOL. A pet peeve of mine.

"Larry, you better be working on Season 9 you four-eyed asshole."
Should be now that the HBO movie is done.

Nowadays I find myself much, much less prepared to put up with shit from other people and have become much, much better at either avoiding social awkwardness altogether or extracting myself from situations before they become socially awkward.
I probably have Larry to thank for this .

He is the Messiah. I take the Social Assassin thing to boot, telling people there's no point in saying LOL etc...He is...well, the master.

One of Larry's most 'Yep, he's right' moments for me was his scathing sarcasm with the woman in front of him at the ice-cream counter sampling everything when he's in a hurry ... 'Oh, oh yes ... let's try vanilla! Ooh, I wonder what VANILLA tastes like!' .

Most people are just terrible. Larry David brilliantly shines a light on this indisputable fact.

I'd like to sample Cheryl about ten years ago.

Tackling Season 8's "The Hero". Got enough moments to crack on along and then there's Gervais. Cracking interplay between Larry and Susie in the theatre which annoys Gervais who then is talking to them about the fuckwits in the audience...Larry saying it was some woman...
Susie: "A beautiful woman...!" Larry: "On some bizarro planet maybe."
next week, the scourge that is Rosie O'Donnell.
EDIT-O...LD unsure if Curb will return > http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/larry-david-unsure-curb-enthusiasm-return-article-1.1426972

The centenary of the Balfour Declaration made me hungry for some Palestinian Chicken:
I love Jewish women. Particularly the peasant big tits.

Classic episode and prescient.
Shame the only (legal) place to watch the new season in Australia is on Foxtel. Bloody Murdoch.

It's on Sky Atlantic in the UK, a channel I don't have. DVD it will have to be.

Another programme I lost to SkyAtlantic. Damn it. Old days it'd be on More4, Sunday nights.

Jesus, how prescient this scene turned out to be. I work in an industry that's 80% women yet half my worktime is taken up by bullshit like this:
Someone help me find a safe space.

Thanks for the laugh. Larry David is great of course, but I think I never fully appreciated how terrific Cheryl Hines is on that show.

Yeah, she makes not very interesting lines work with her very expressive face. I particularly like her expression when she's asked by social services whether she wants to press charges against Larry for wife beating.
Hard to compete with a crowd-pleaser like Susie Essman, though.

The biggest cultural change since that episode is that white people have caught on to the magnificence of a phat ass. "Yes" is now the right answer to "Does my bum look big in this?"
