| New thread. This one doesn't involve renaming the titles using the word "die" in the process.
You can use any existing Fleming/Gardner/Amis/Benson title known at the time of the movie...you can take a line from a book....a chapter title...come up with your own idea. But the new title needs to make sense. Justify your argument.
For example, ICEBREAKER could work for Die Another Day (and would have been a much better title than the rumored Beyond The Ice).
SHAMELADY could work for TWINE because...well, Elektra's actions are shameful. That's a bit of a stretch.
SUDDEN IMPACT (though a Clint Eastwood film) might have worked with A VIEW TO A KILL if they'd kept the original premise of a comet striking California.
LICENSE TO KILL could have been FOR SPECIAL SERVICES had Leiter given Bond a gun at the end of LTK, thanking him for rendering special service (i.e. killing Sanchez).

| A Whisper of Hate instead of Skyfall. Not that there's anything wrong with Skyfall, but A Whisper of Hate captures the malice Silva bears for M, it's pure Fleming, and it sounds dam' good.
The Fierce Possession instead of Live and Let Die. "The fierce possession" is how Fleming describes a girl Goldfinger has painted gold. Always thought it a picturesque turn of phrase. And it would apply to Solitaire, who is possessed by Kananga. Whether she's fierce or not is open to debate.
Good thread, BTW. |

| SHATTERHAND could work for Dr.No, given the fact that his hands are lethal weapons. I suppose ALONG CAME A SPIDER would be trite, and would only reference one scene in the film.
THE COLOR OF MONEY could work for GOLDFINGER, though I think GOLDFINGER is the better title. Actually, THE MAN WITH THE MIDAS TOUCH would be a strong alternative to GOLDFINGER. |

As some suggested, We Have All The Time In The World for OHMSS. |

Good idea, but I'd chop off "We Have" and leave it at All The Time In The World. 8 words is simply too much for a Bond film title. |

Was going to suggest it, but it could make OHMSS seem like a romance movie through and through. |

| I like more the original Tomorrow Never Lies.
And also Licence Revoked, it sounds better than Licence To Kill.
The Icarus Project for Die Another Day.
Scaramanga's Challenge for The Man With The Golden Gun. |

| A VIEW TO A KILL could have been MAY DAY. Obviously May Day is the name of a character, but in the U.S. it's often used as a phrase to denote extreme danger or risk (I joke, I think, 007 was making when he said she was "dressed for the occasion"). If Jones' character wasn't called May Day, but something else, I think the title would have been very appropriate. That's the only way I could use May Day as the title, because you can't have a title of a film named after a supporting villain. If a character's name is going to be used, it has to be the main villain...DR.NO, SHATTERHAND, GOLDFINGER... |

May Day is a big commie holiday. Like International Workers' Day or some such rot. Insofar as she was dressed in red, she was indeed, "dressed for the occasion." |
