| Anyone care to discuss this TV adaptation?
I thought it was rather well done.
The third part was unfortunately the weakest of the three, probably because of the misguided attempt at something resembling a "happy end"?
The ending of the second feature was more or less perfect for a story existing in such a bleak universe. |

| Am I to assume that I am the only one who saw this adaptation? Or just the only one who deemed it worthy of discussion? |

| Looking back, a lot of cast members have since moved onto Hollywood movie careers and/or American TV. It's still hard to grasp how David Morrissey - who was so great as The Owl in Red Riding - is the same man who plays the Governor on the truly awful "The Walking Dead". |

Thankfully I avoided seeing that altogether. |

The timing of that sequel made so little sense. If they were going to do it, they should have released it somewhere in the mid 90s. The collective consciousness and popular culture had changed too much by 2006. |

| The production of that movie was such a perfect storm (Eszterhas' screenplay, Verhoeven's directing style and personal fascinations/quirks and Sharon's Stone emergence as a major star) that its success would have been hard to reproduce anyway. |

| That entire movie was drenched in Eszterhas' personal fantasies, and naturally Verhoeven took great pleasure in bringing them to the screen. Though it was still rather cowardly (or merely pragmatic) that they allowed themselves to be censored down to an R rating. |
