This is rather over the top. Sagan acts like a juvenile idiot on the podium, so therefore the entire practice of having podium misses is outdated and sexist? To me this is more a matter of Sagan having no social graces. |

| I know I hate it when women pinch my bottom. It's so demeaning.
As for social graces, I'm told that it's bad manners not to pinch the backside of any woman past 40. Otherwise they might feel they're undesirable.
Quite a minefield feminism has laid. |

| I'm not sure this is about feminism as much as it's about basic manners and common sense. Sagan has spent the last two years marketing himself as the lovable scoundrel of cycling, so this might even be a very conscious action. |

| Cycling is my thing so I know a bit about Sagan, and none of this changes my opinion of him. He wrote some quite good SF. ;)
Women who have their arses pinched should either enjoy it or slap the offender. Bringing the law and/or police into it seems a pointless escalation to me. Then again, I am an amblosaur as Shark never tires of telling me.

| Well I do think it was a missed opportunity of the lady in question not to turn around and slap him. |

I wouldn't have...I'd call up my lawyer who be salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs over the prospects of money in the bank...that would leave a much harder mark than a slap. |

Your assertion that my lawyer is male is so 1979 and even more sexist than pinching one's ass. |

| Actually, by 'his' I meant Sagan's face.
If it helps, you can always park your arse in my face instead, but I should warn you that the EU has taken 60% of my savings already. |
