| No actual thread for this game, so I might as well start it off with this article. http://www.mi6-hq.com/news/index.php?itemid=10866&t=mi6&s=news - Quote :
- 'GoldenEye 007' multiplayer reportedly 'made in just six weeks'
In a recent interview composer Grant Kirkhope explained to Digital Spy how Nintendo stopped funding developer Rare's production of the now-iconic multiplayer 007 adventure but the development team soldiered on regardless.
"The multiplayer was put in literally in the last six weeks, it was right at the very, very end and no-one wanted it," says Kirkhope of one of the longest-lasting legacies of the groundbreaking Nintendo 64 game.
Kirkhope also revealed that Rare was offered the opportunity to develop a game based on the next James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies, but turned down the project to work on other titles. I actually did not know that about Rare being offered Tomorrow Never Dies. Kinda glad they went their own route and made Perfect Dark, but at the same time that EA game was just sloppy as hell. Great music though, that's the only good thing I could say about it. |

| The EA game was pretty mediocre. TWINE had its moments, I guess though. Definitely think another Rare Bond FPS would've been the way to go. |

| The only reason I like 007 is because of their GoldenEye game, so I owe them a lot. Today I started reading the novel Perfect Dark: Initial Vector (prequel to Perfect Dark 64 and sequel of the Xbox 360 game) and it makes me miss the old Rare so much... I wish they kept making Perfect Dark games. |
