Yeah, I was messaging Timmer, Khan and GS for a few days, sending messages back and forth. They eventually came back, albeit temporarily.

They did explain why they left. And with each day, I begin to understand why.

I've PM'd Khan over at MI6, though I'm not sure he'll respond.

I didn't even know Salome left...has she really? I did notice when Ambler isn't around, both Salome and Santa are a bit scarcer with posting but didn't know she had gone.

Of the others, I only saw GS mentioning any intention to leave. I did send him a pm to ask him to reconsider but he chose to leave after one more round of parting words. A shame really but there's nothing more I could do.

Neither Khan, Tim nor Trevanian said anything to me...

If these people chose to leave, any reason why they're still listed as Mods? It's time to move on.

To me, the board was fine enough before people began to complain, and the damage has been done. The complainants, on the other hand, have not taken up the slack. You log on to B&B sometimes and practically nothing is going on...maybe that's why Salome left? And without much of the old guard here anymore, my own interest level is waning. Badly. I don't see myself returning to MI6...I don't like a forum full of snot-nosed minors.

Timmer logged on last night/early this morning, read the War Room subforum then left. A bit mysterious. He only posted for a short while whilst you were gone, Ambler. That might hold some significance.

Damned shame that Trev left, moreso for any problems he had on the board.

Something about the taking down of avatars when you leave (resign) that is...irksome, shall we say.

j7 used to pm me about common interests and from my own chats with him, didn't come across the way he was typecast by virtually everyone else. It didn't help that some of his posts were tampered with either.

I think it's Game of Thrones, not Thorns...I've never looked at an episode (yet) but was a late bloomer with The Walking Dead as well...watched all 3 seasons (35 episodes) within a week earlier this month. Safe to say I'll be watching Season 4 as it unfolds on AMC from October.

As far as I know, the "im a prick" bit was the only time his posts were altered and Brown confessed to that. Otherwise I'm unfamiliar with any other tampering.

Brandon did most of the tampering, and that was simply adding gifs, comic sans or memes to his posts. I did it once, but reverted it soon after awards. If you go back far enough, some of Brown's edits still remain.

All three "departed" mods were ultimately given free will to speak as they please here, which is something they'll likely never get at MI6. I never once "bollocked" any of these three members, and every time a complaint was sent to me by or about these three members, I never took sides. My advice over controversial content was for everybody involved in those threads to try and avoid posting blatantly or potentially offensive content. My relationship with all three of these mods was always good, I had a lot of time, faith and trust for all three of them, and all three have been encouraged to post here or stay here but obviously don't wish to. I bent the "rules" for all three of them by eventually just telling members to "man up" and just stay out of threads they don't like and basically gave all three of these mods free reign to post as before. And yet they still left. I'd love to have all three of them back, but I've done enough already to accomodate them here and shown more than enough trust in all three of them by appointing and keeping them as mods, regardless of complaints. I won't waste any further time massaging anybody's egos by chasing around begging and bending over. I've done all I can for these three members. I hope they come back, but priority for me right now is keeping the members who still post here and improving the forums so that nobody else decides to leave.

Every existing mod here has until the end of the month to inform me of their commitment/non-commitment to their mod role here. If, come June 30th, any mod has failed to do this, it will simply be a case of instant demotion.

Leaving here and then joining the more restrictive MI6 (especially when you were in the habit of railing against the loss of 'freedom of speech' on the 'net) seems like somewhat of a 'raised middle finger' gesture, I'm afraid.

You're right, M - no 'bending over backwards'. Decision to leave was entirely theirs; so be it.

Not even really necessary in your case, Hilly. Yourself, Lord Shark, Fields, Python and Tux (if he still wants to) are, as I've said before, set in stone as mods here because I know that the five of you are 100% committed to the place and have the requisite regular presence, that in itself is statement to me of your intent. It's the remaining mods I need clarification from.

Just waiting to hear whether or not he meant it. Don't want to immediately de-mod someone for saying something which may have been said in the heat of the moment or through feeling pressured to do so.

I'm sure he meant it. He has been busy lately and modding hasn't been much of a priority of his, even he admitted that awhile back. Just PM him.

I have seen a bit more than just those two shows.
This TV season, I have watched the aforementioned shows as well as Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Archer, and (the ultimately disappointing) Orphan Black.
