To Bring In More Members: A media project?

I want to get your thoughts on this. There has been discussion around here for months about bringing in new members. Maybe something that could be linked to our site would help as opposed to just changing the colors and banner.

I did a Casino Royale audio drama back in 2007/2008 on MI6. It was going to be on the main site, but since we used Bond music, they could not do it (copyright, etc.) It was also posted to several voice acting sites, etc. Each episode (6 in total) received around roughly 3,000 listens per episode. Assuming there were at least a 1,000 unique listeners overall, it might be a good way to get the site name out there. Even if only a 1,000 people overall hear it, it might do something for us.

Since we don't really have a website, this might be away to bring attention to the forums if the audio drama is successful. Put it out on a ton of sites with a link saying it was supported by the forums, maybe a post on a well populated place like Reddit and their James Bond subreddit. Even if it only brings in 30 or 40 members, it is a start. Maybe this is completely ridiculous, but it seems to me worth a shot.

Now it's been 7 years almost since the last one came out, we would be starting from scratch... a whole new cast, etc....

Maybe we could test the waters and start out small... maybe adapt one of the short stories...see how it does before venturing on to do a full novel adaptation (which, on my own, as Casino Royale was, is a very time consuming process).

It's just an idea, maybe a poor one....and if you feel that way, that is fine, feel free to let me know that before I waste my time... but I'm just throwing ideas around. I'd be willing to put one out there if some people were willing to help and we can see what happens.

Bond Lifestyle puts a lot of fan media on their site. I think that's always a good way to rope in new followers.

I'd be willing to help out with anything, whether radio production or video project. I never thought of using Reddit. That could be helpful.

I'm thinking at the moment, maybe I'll try to re-edit Casino Royale and make it a little better than it was (way too much narration). Or maybe just re-release it as it. Then I'll go and post it on reddit or some other site with a link to here and see what happens. Just gauge the interest level and see if anything happens.

In the meantime, I might look through some of the short stories and see what can be done.
