With the amount of people on Twitter, it would be weird not to find a few (racist) idiots amongst them.

It's not shocking to me as in my view Americans are by and large deeply provincial people at least 100 years behind the UK in terms of politics and thought in general. They're still talking about Socialism over there. This isn't all that surprising as they are a much younger nation than that of the UK/Britain, of course. These type of white Americans (and they are in the majority over there, of course) see everything in purely black and white. They are mostly neo-isolationists with no real idea of the outside world or even the great immigrant history of the United States and what it was in fact built upon. I mean, what is the United States but an amalgam of different immigrant peoples from all of the different countries of the world. So never be shocked by what goes on in America. They never fail to let one down in their narrow-minded ignorance. That's how they can associate an Indian immigrant with being an Arab foreigner and compare her to those Islamonazis who attacked the United States on 9/11. And they can do this without even as much as batting an eyelid and thinking for a moment that they might be vastly wrong about this. Welcome to the law of the jungle that is the Internet where ignorance reigns supreme, especially on the other side of the pond and the Daughters of the American Revolution. I don't expect these things to change any time soon if ever...
