15 Best Guns of the James Bond Films Empty

I thought this list and accompanying photos was good.

http://www.gunsandammo.com/2012/10/27/15-best-guns-of-the-james-bond-films/#ixzz2gBtZhut8

Though I am vocal about increased gun laws and licencing, I am a fan of fire power. I grew up participating in a Fish and Game club because my dad was a hunter and taxidermist on his off days from firefighting. (Not only was he a firefighter and hunter, he was a handsome man - a combo of young Sean Connery and Tom Selleck. So I come by my love of the manly man Bond naturally. tongue)

Anyway, he encouraged me to learn to use a rifle and, due to my steady hand and finding that sort of concentration calming, I spend my teens winning competitive exhibition shoots (targets, skeet and trap) with .22 rifles, shotguns and big bore rifles. By the time I was 15, I had left the teen age group, and the female groups, and was competing against men. Sort of drove them mental. tongue My dad loved it.

Naturally then, my favourite of the group listed would be the Holland & Holland Royal side-by-side shotgun Bond used at the Drax estate in Moonraker. It is really a lovely looking gun.

I've never shot a pistol, oddly enough. Just wasn't the thing when I was competing.

Anyone else have experience or favourites?

I've not used one, no. Though I'm awfully tempted.

Moore's Magnum in LALD.

Craig has got some decent guns, especially on the beach scene in Casino Royale.

Speaking of Craig and guns, it's kind of nice that they've restrained his Bond from going all out with sub-machine guns like Brosnan did in every film. Then there's Connery, who I think is the only Bond actor not to use a sub-machine gun, cause he's too cool.

Here's a gun that was completely underutilized: The rocket gun from YOLT. It's only presented in the ninja Q lab, but we never see it again after that. I imagine that would have been in that three hour cut of the film, before Peter Hunt was hired to trim it.

Brosnan went overboard with the gun-totin'. It's unsurprising that he was my favourite Bond back when the only place I had hair was my head.
