Hard to believe there isn't already a thread devoted to them here, so here it is. For starters, what are your favourite Smiths albums?
Here are mine, including both studio albums and compilations:

My favourite Smiths album is probably THE QUEEN IS DEAD. I sadly never got to see them live, but did see Morrissey in 2004.

Many say Morrissey is so miserable, but many of his lyrics are really funny.

Agree. "Frankly, Mr. Shankly" gets funnier all the time to me.

I wish they could come back together. Morrissey and Marr are both good at what they do on their own, but it is just not as interesting.

Another funny one, or is it sexist?

The Smiths are sexist and sexism is a laff riot.

Perry, I have to agree. Another song, from their last album, with funny lyrics:

Well, I wonder, were Morrissey and Marr the most celebrated song writing duo since Lennon and McCartney?

He once walked off and didn't return at an outdoor gig when the aroma from the burger stalls etc was carried on the breeze to the stage. More recently, he left the stage at an indoor gig in Vegas because he was 'too cold'.
*Artistic* types, eh?

He also said that the Breivik attrocities were not that big a deal compared to what goes on in slaughterhouses every day. He does have a point, but that kind of rhetoric may not help his cause. His heart is in the right place, but he seems to have a thorn in his side.

What is up with all the constant shaking and waving with flowers until they break and fall apart? Such insensitive waste, and plant abuse. If he hates plantlife so much, go feed a cow with them instead.

As much as I would have wanted the Smiths to keep going, I feel they went out on a relative high with STRANGEWAYS HERE WE COME and maybe it was for the better that they quit when they did.

Peel Sessions fostered many great recordings from a plethora of bands, also The Smiths.

Italian band SPIRITUAL FRONT has released a couple of Smiths covers lately.
From the upcoming cover album THE QUEEN IS NOT DEAD
Love the coverwork.
