| If the BBC have really managed to get Moore, Wilson, Babs, John Glen and Jaws in the studio at the same time then this should be worth a toot. And don't ask what the fuck that means. - Quote :
- The Reunion: James Bond
Duration: 45 minutes
Great stunts, gorgeous girls, car chases, gadgets and exotic settings have helped maintain James Bond as the longest running series in film history.
Sir Roger Moore's Bond 1973 debut in Live and Let Die saw 007 reinvented for a more progressive era. Bond is less concerned with international Cold War super-villains and instead spears drug cartels infesting the streets of Harlem. 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me was nominated for three Academy Awards. And Moonraker delivered a Bond for the Star Wars generation.
With his matinee idol looks and martini dry wit Moore brought tremendous naughtiness to the part. Sue MacGregor reunites him with the team who helped make him the most popular Bond ever according to two polls from the last decade.
In the studio with Sir Roger are co-producer and screenwriter (and step-son of 007 mastermind Cubby Broccoli) Michael G Wilson. His half-sister and co-producer Barbara Broccoli who has fond memories from the Roger Moore era. She officially started in the publicity unit for The Spy Who Loved me and became assistant director on Octopussy.
John Glen - the most prolific director of the Bond franchise - impressed the team with his handling of action scenes including the scene when Bond shot off the edge of a cliff appearing again when his Union Jack parachute opened up. The world cheered!
Richard Kiel who played the terrifying Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me, recalls how making his character more "human" made him so popular with fans that he was brought back for a second appearance in Moonraker. And Britt Ekland says today's Bond girls are victim to the era of political correctness. "They are beautiful businesswomen instead of sex kittens like we were."
Producer: Karen Pirie Series Producer: David Prest THE REUNION is a Whistledown Production for BBC Radio 4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04g6zg8 |

| Well, fuck me sideways ... The BBC managed to reunite Babs Broccoli, Michael G Wilson, John Glen and Roger Moore in the studio after all. They were joined by Britt Ekland and Richard Kiel on Skype.
Sadly, there weren’t any great revelations despite the conversation touching on the break up of Cubby Broccoli' and Harry Saltzman's partnership. However, there was a generally entertaining political incorrectness from Moore and Britt, who took repeated shits on today's humourless aspie fanboy cunts who worry about 007's 'heteronormativity'. Britt reprised her story about Cubby's thirst for her milk-filled tits when casting Mary Goodnight and his subsequent disappointment when she turned up on the set of TMWTGG as flat as a pancake. Yeah, been there, done that...
Anyway, worth a listen next time you’re washing the car. Should be available on Radio 4 on BBC iPlayer later today. |

| As far as I know, no way to download it unless it comes out as a podcast. Long been trying to find a way for certain programmes like Just a Minute or Navy Lark. |

| Listened to this at the time, enjoyed it. As Ambler says, nothing terribly new but still fun.
Only wish Sir Rog was including Belfast on his imminent 'An Afternoon/Evening With ... ' tour. |
