| Requirements - someone over 6ft 2, very physically imposing, possibly with a sports background. My pick. WWE's Batista. Why? Recently cast as Drax in GotG, which is the year's biggest hit to date. Fits the bill at 6ft 5 with a well known wrestling career. |

| Well, Renard had a hawk in early drafts of TWINE that he used to pluck the eyeballs out of his enemies; maybe we could bring it back. Instead of Blofeld having a white cat, maybe he could have a killer hawk or falcon resting on his shoulder.
We've had tall killers....midget killers...black,white/asian killers....killers with steel teeth or with no teeth. Some have been fat, some have been Lebanese or gay. They've been female, they've been young, they've been old....they've used their hats, walkman earphone cords, or their thighs.
I think we were on the right path with Javier Bardem's character; but no matter how iconic the character will be, he/she will need to be played by a great actor. |

| The problem is that henchmen rarely get much in the way of characterisation. Renard got a lot because the film was misdirecting us as to who the real villain was, but the henchmen in CR didn't live long enough to get any characterisation, Elvis was the butt of every joke in QOS and so barely qualified as a henchman, and Patrice didn't even say a word in SF. So while casting is important, a truly iconic henchman needs something interesting. They should be a physical threat to Bond, and require guile to be defeated. Like someone who is an absolute brawler, but cannot see the colour blue properly, and so Bond can blind them with an ultraviolet light. |

| Yep. And Bautista was outstanding. There have been few better henchmen. |

| Well, discarding a parody henchthing I called Wall - a physical wall that would clobber agent DoubleJointed Savings Bond - that I wrote back in my teens ...
Actually, Alexander Skaarsgard would be an interesting choice, esp if we for once had a rather articulate henchman ... somebody along the lines of Vanity's bodyguard in ACTION JACKSON, tho not so farcical. AS looks strong and could be in the Necros mode. |

| Speaking of henchmen, when I watched YOLT Friday night I was struck by how much Hans reminded me of Eric Kriegler. Not so much facially, but in terms of body-type and the way they moved. |

He must have been his father, Hans Kriegler. |

He must have been his father, Hans Kriegler. I hear he had a Hans off parenting style... |
