This isn't the kind of show I'd usually go for. Yet so far, I have enjoyed it quite a bit.
Not sure how well they will manage to keep this interesting for multiple seasons.

I'll have to wait for the DVD I guess (I don't have Starz). Ron Moore has a lot of goodwill left for me, despite the lousy ending to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.

Apparently the books this is based on fall into the chick-lit category, which is why I'm surprised that I've enjoyed it thus far. It does look quite beautiful, even on the small screen.

First I've heard of Outlander. Moore seems to have had a tough time getting shows past the pilot stage post-Caprica, but I might dig this out; despite my griping elsewhere about the ungrateful Celts, Scotland is a beautiful country.
For a different dirty weekend, I recommend the sleeper from Euston to Fort William then a bit of hiking, drinking and rutting on Skye. Fleeing the cities occasionally is intoxicating.

Quite easily in the top three Worst Books I Have Ever Read. It's bloody awful. I was even moved to review it on Amazon in order to give due warning to other would-be victims readers.
The only thing that might save it is if there's a really really really ridiculously good looking bloke in it, who's guaranteed to be stripped to the waist and wet at least once per episode. Otherwise, I have no intention of suffering it further. I read the book, dammit. I've suffered enough.

Knowing that you think Da Vinci Code is literature may make me ignore your warning, Rave. Good to see you here again though. I was worried that Dog Bond's snatch had scared you away.

I would never call the Da Vinci Code literature. You malign me, Sir Ambler. I'd demand satisfaction, but I'd say that was unlikely ;)

Don't force me to publish your amazon review here, Hell's. You know I'll do it.

Which one?
In my defence, I read Da Vinci Code before all the hype. Which means I was able to enjoy it as a fun, light-entertainment type read. If I'd read it with all the hype going on, I'd have hated the damn thing. It was all about the timing. When it hit the headlines, people were banging on about it like it was something amazingly new and all true - utter bollards, of course. I just read it as being a summer blockbuster style read with an Indiana Jones style hero and that's about it. About as historically accurate as Braveshite.

You wrote more than one glowing review of The da Vinci Code? The situation's worse than I realised.

That's what you said to me last night in the pub toilets.

Amongst other things. Like, 'Your payment is overdue', and 'Can I borrow your lipstick?'

Haven't read the books and I have no intention to.
The lad they have cast as the eye-candy isn't really my type, Rave.
Its best quality is how beautifully it is shot.

You like them young, hung and half-Scandinavian.

Not opposed to young and hung, but Scandis can be odd ducks.
So this latest episode has turned me off the show a tiny bit. It was 100% pure romance novel stuff, heaving bosoms and unfastened corsets included.

I found the last two episodes somewhat dull, especially the wedding episode. Which is odd since the critics have been raving about that one. I get what they were trying to do, but I'm not sure if it made for very compelling TV. At least not from my perspective.

I've managed to avoid it completely. I don't think I've missed anything. Even though Tumblr is awash with excess hormones thanks to the series, it seems. That and some dodgy Gaelic.
