| Terrific news if true.
Waltz is a great actor who's been waiting for a role to do justice to his talents. I hope Mendes provides it. If it's good enough, Waltz may rid himself of the foul stench of Tarantino. |

| Excellent.
Let's hope the character's well written. And I'm guessing it will be. |

| Full article: - Quote :
- Christoph Waltz, the two-time Oscar-winning actor, has jumped on board the 007 Express.
He will play a ‘significant’ role in the untitled Bond 24 movie that will begin filming early next month.
However, I am told that the part is a complex one. ‘It’s not immediately evident whether the part’s friend, or foe, or a bit of both,’ a person who has knowledge of the screenplay told me.
Although someone else on the production let slip that the character Waltz has signed up for is ‘extremely cunning’. ‘A nemesis of sorts,’ they continued.
So will Waltz be the movie’s big bad guy?
‘Not so fast . . . just because he has played bad guys in other movies doesn’t mean he’s going to be the baddie here,’ a Bond 24 spook told me, in a clear bit of misdirection.
I gather that Bond himself, in the guise of Daniel Craig, has already met with Waltz. So have producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Other cast members, including Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux and Rory Kinnear, will meet for a script read-through in just under three weeks.
Director Sam Mendes wants his screenwriters on hand to talk through some of the film’s breathtaking action sequences.
The team of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are likely to be there, and will be joined by Jez Butterworth.
Butterworth was contacted by Mendes, an old friend, and asked to give the Bond 24 script a polish and fine-tune some of the action scenes.
The picture will shoot on locations in Mexico, Austria, Morocco, Italy and London. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2833780/BAZ-BAMIGBOYE-Tarantino-villain-Bond-s-cunning-nemesis.html |

| Absolutely incredible news. I did a double-take when I first read Baz's tweet!
Mendes, Craig, van Hoytema and now Waltz give me a lot of hope for this movie. The screenplay is still the wildcard here, and hopefully the resident jokers Purvis & Wade can write a decent character and some good dialog for Waltz to work with. I'm not optimistic about that, but maybe this Butterworth guy will contribute something worthwhile. |

| One can only hope this role becomes iconic and memorable in the same fashion that Bardem brought us a fresh take in Skyfall. Waltz is a tremendous actor, and will no doubt bring his "A" game. |

| Decent choice...though much like the idea Strong was going to be the villain it sort of plays to 'expectations'. |

| I wonder if it's a f*ck you to Miccoli for denying Tarantino's Casino Royale with Pierce Brosnan. Actually waiting for Daniel Bruhl to join a Bond film soon. - dr. strangelove wrote:

I doubt Mendes and Waltz would have jumped on board if the script wasn't at least on par with SF. Plus a lot of it would be Logan's work, with Purvis and Wade adding more Bondian touches (which would have to be signed off by Mendes). And yeah Butterworth will do a final polish - which he apparently did for SF anyway. |

Hopefully Bond will drink a Corona. Heineken will have a hissy fit, especially if it fronts Bond another multi million marketing pitch (which I'm sure it will). Question is, do you want an Oscar winning performance, or your typical megalomaniac cretin? |

| I didn't mind Waltz' Tarantino outings. In fact, I'd argue he is the one good thing about "Django".
Tarantino also gave Waltz the international platform he otherwise never would have gotten, certainly not at 53 years of age. |

Possibly, but Waltz was also the only good thing about those films. He was a hell of a lot better than they deserved. |

| Only thing I remember about Django was the N-word and Spike Lee being a bitch about it.
Fuck off Spike. |
