| Has anyone here seen a copy of (or extracts from) Purvis & Wade's original script for QoS? I've read that Eva Green was to reappear in it as Vesper Lynd, only within Bond's head, which sounds unusually imaginative for a Bond film... Regardless of whether that's true or not, no snippet of P&W's original draft seems to be online. A shame given that Marc Forster is said to have jettisoned their screenplay despite the WGA credits. |

| I believe the original script is published by Andrex. Tuggable huggable softness. |

| John Logan revealed this here: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-21799563 - Quote :
- [Producer] Barbara Broccoli once said when you work on a Bond movie it's like you belong to MI6.
"I thought she was joking but I quickly realised when I had to shred drafts that it really is." I'm betting that after the script for CASINO ROYALE leaked online, EON made it a policy to shred drafts to prevent something like that from happening again. Which must mean that the original BOND 22 draft by Purvis and Wade was destroyed. Apparently it was more close to complete than what Haggis turned in hours before the strike. |

| Haggis' screenplay is the one where Bond discovers he has a son, right? |

| Bond discovers that Vesper had a son, so he goes out to search for him. Also, the ending was also supposed to have Bond resign from MI6, ending with that shot of him walking away from M in the snow.
All these different drafts clearly shed light onto why everyone at EON would say something contradictory about what QOS would be about during the early shooting. |

Hmmm, why? Many men tolerate kids from their partners' previous relationships, but seeking them out is a bit much. It seems I have much to learn about life from the illustrious Thetan Paul Haggis. How to get to the planet Venus after I die, for instance. |

Hmmm, why? Bond needed answers. How long had she been entrapped by this organisation? At the end of CASINO ROYALE Bond realises how little he really knew about Vesper. |

How to get to the planet Venus after I die, for instance. It is not impossible for a man to develop a genuine bond with a child he himself has not fathered. I have a colleague who is the legal guardian to the child of a woman he is no longer involved with. I wouldn't argue that it's a regular occurrence though. |

All these different drafts clearly shed light onto why everyone at EON would say something contradictory about what QOS would be about during the early shooting. ...and the finished product imo - my biggest problem with QOS is the sense that what happens and what is said about what happens seem out of step....particularly the end - both the 'I need you Bond' and 'I never left' fail to ring true in context of the events leading up. |
