Thought I'd resurrect this old MI6 thread ... heard this morning that Jennifer Garner has been cast as the next Miss Marple, which seems wrong on several levels. 🇳🇴

Daniel Craig as James Bond comes to mind.

As does Judi Dench as M.

And Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.

Coming soon: James Woods as Orphelia.

Cate Blanchett as a comically stereotypical Soviet villain in the last Indiana Jones. She looks so far out of her comfort zone in lighter roles.

Most of the cast in "The Black Dahlia".

Strangely enough, I thought Swank's performance was the only one that worked well.

Also would've preferred it if Gregg Henry made a come back in the film.

Mia Kirshner was spot on. Problem was she didn't look anything like Swank.

I wish Kirshner had played both parts.

I do like Eckhart in his role.

Agreed. 100x more attractive than Swank, too. laugh

I suppose the biggest problem for me was Hartnett. But, looking past the acting, there's something admirable, especially compared to De Palma's other recent flicks, or even some recent films by his contemporaries. I'll take it over "Catch Me If You Can", "The Aviator", or "Star Wars: The Final Frontier" any day.

Sean Connery was put in a load of films that he didn't belong in, too. And Van Sant's "Psycho" remake was one big casting disaster (not that I think the film should ever be taken seriously).

Recently re-watched Coppola's Dracula ... Keanu 'Duuuude' Reeves as the upper-crust young Englishman Jonathon Harker fits right into this thread, but sadly not into the movie.

These all I can think of right now, mostly common choices but I'm sure there quite a few.

John Wayne in The Conqueror and The Greatest Story Ever Told

Tobey Maguire as Spiderman

Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins

Anthony Hopkins in Dracula and Van Helsing and any similar crap

Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz in Gangs of New York

Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany

The whole cast of The Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones. Any movie with Hayden Christiansen really.

Winona Ryder in Alien Resurrection.

The whole cast of TWINE except Robbie Coltrane.

The whole cast of Batman and Robin.

Anne Heche and Vince Vaughan in the Psycho remake.

Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie in Alexander.

Renee Zellweger and Orlando Bland are badly cast in every movie they make.

Quentin Tarantino in a Tarantino or non-Tarantino movie.
