What Bond items do you enjoy collecting the most?

What do you spend your hard earned $s on the most? What do you go to the ends of the earth (or ebay) to find?

It may not be what you have the most of, since that might be the films for a lot of us. Just which collection gives you the most pleasure, or is the most fun to hunt for and add to?

I made this a poll and tried to be thorough, but please tell me if I left anything out!

It depends. I really enjoy buying anything James Bond related. I used to really enjoy buying the gorgeous Franklin Mint plates, but there are only six of them, and, well, I've got them all. The next one would probably be the Sideshow figurines. I just need the George Lazenby figurine from the Legacy collection, and then the Connery and Moore figures from the premium format. I'll say them for now, but let it be known I do check second hand bookstores and eBay for first edition James Bond novels too! :)

As of now I would say I have more money tied up with autographs.

Lately I've been on a Bond clothing kick. Persol sunglasses, Sunspel shirt, jeans, chukkas, and the like.

Right from the start, the only items I could find (and afford) were books and soundtracks. Later I discovered where posters could be ordered from. Finally I was able to collect the ultimate souvenirs, the films themselves.

I've resisted being drawn into collecting anything else, as I'm aware of my own OC nature. As a result, the only other items I've picked up have been the 1:18 scale cars, and the Golden Gun replica.

With this last item, I consider my collecting days at an end (apart from the books, posters, soundtracks and DVDs of future films).

The films. It started with VHS as a kid, moved to DVD, will plunk down for the Blu-rays when they are re-released in 2012, and now avidly collect Laserdiscs.

I also collect the books, but at this point there's little more to go for short of Fleming 1st editions.

I've started to collect all of the Soundtrack LPs and expanded CDs.

Bond is the one collecting thing for me that will never end.

The movies duh!

For me it's the books, not just the hardback and paperback novels of Fleming, Amis, Pearson, Woods, Gardner, Benson (spit!), Higson, Faulks and Deaver but also all the reference books and biographies associated with the world of Fleming and Bond. My goal is to have a copy of every related book printed in the English language and apart from about three or four I think I may have them all up to now (my collection of books is in the hundreds...my wife despairs!). I love the oddities in my collection 'The Ann Fleming letters', the hilarious 'Alligator' and the 'Bond strikes camp' short story spring to mind.
Because of this obsession sadly the rest of my collection is rather pitiful, I have all the films on VHS (three sets), DVD and Blu Ray, all the soundtracks and related Bond albums, the Corgi Bond car collection, a couple of Bond T shirts and ties, a collection of 007 toy PPK's and P99's, a metal replica PPK and leather shoulder holster, a TWINE Action man and a Lazenby figure and a original FRWL film poster.

Me too. I have a pair of Bérénice's panties. I'm hoping to exchange them for a Villiers Vindicator.

I collected the James Bond cars only Yes the recent collection which came with Book. I collected Minichamps which don't do anymore but Corgi yes. I open a new post soon about James Bond models & polls who should make them

When I was younger I had the 24x36 DAF and TB/YOLT double, plus ... and this is the one I dread looking up, because I'm sure it goes for serious coin now ... 24x72 MOONRAKER that was essentially 2 24x36 posters separated by 8 lobby cards, but all rolled into one big sheet. I actually cut it up in thirds! (don't ask me why, I hated the movie but I wouldn't have cut the poster to ribbons for that.)

I also had a 6' tall Eastwood Spaghetti Western poster in Italian. I think an old girlfriend tore that up.

Kind of got over the poster thing when I realized I treat physical items too poorly to be allowed to keep them. When there was a limited edition of a special TREK book on the first film that came out in 2014, I bought 2 of the 1000 printed, so I'd have one 'reading copy' and one that would remain intact on the shelf. The reading copy actually fell apart into 7 or 8 pieces by 2019 (it's a 700 page trade paperback, which basically means it should fall apart if I just shout at it or open it near a cup of coffee.) The other copy I have been trying to handle with care, but since it is a reference volume and too long to commit to memory, I do have to open it fairly often, as the first TREK movie is an obsession with me (sue me, I'm fascinated by movie versions of train wrecks like that and the second EXORCIST movie.)

Back on topic, I've inadvertently wound up with several Bond books that seem to have turned into pricey collectibles, such as Syd Cain's book, the book by that gadget guy named Bert, Peter Lamont's and all of the Ken Adam ones , including the STRANGELOVE to MOONRAKER exhibition book. I'll never part with the Adam stuff, but will definitely be unloading the others on ebay by early next year. (the JG book fell to pieces long ago, back when I sold off MAKING OF LTK for something like sixty bucks, not bad as a two dollar used buy.

I used to have the early laserdiscs from Criterion with the banned Terence Young commentaries, but I had a terrible time keeping a working LD machine (was going through one every year), so I let those go for cheap around the turn of the century.

I'm a Laserdisc geek and now have way too many LDs with Bond editions being the no.1 reason why I got into the format. Players are a bit finicky but it's a fun format.

I missed out on the Lamont and Cain books which are now uber expensive. Currently I'm waiting for the Tashen archives book to come down in price.

I bought the Taschen off ebay about a year back for fifty or sixty bucks, figuring it would be a business expense for what were supposed to be three articles on NTTD (thanks for absolutley nothing, UA PR.)

I hope intention means something to IRS; I mean, I still have emails indicating assignments from 2019 and 2020 on this picture.

I've often wondered about THE BATTLE FOR BOND; I guess there is an early edition that has legal stuff struck from later printings (and therefore is expensive as sin), and have wondered if either is actually worth reading. The McClory stuff was a big deal for me as a teenager, because I felt any kind of challenge to Eon would be a good thing, relative to what we were getting in the late 70s. Had no idea we'd wind up with a Connery standalone where he was practically playing it like Roger Moore at times!

Somebody wrote that NSNA might have been Bond as Connery played him if Terence Young hadn't been there to keep him on track, and it does make me wonder, because if you've seen Sean's bit in THE LONGEST DAY, there's nothing of Bond at all, and while he is the most watchable presence in TARZAN'S GREATEST ADVENTURE, that really isn't saying much considering the guy playing Tarzan.

I bailed on The Battle For Bond ... apart from the irritatingly small print in the edition I had, turned out the minute details of legal proceedings just weren't that compelling to me. Even if they did concern 'ownership' of 007.

I also collect the history and making-of books more than anything else, although I’m not sure exactly which books I’ve spent the most on or which has most appreciated in value. The one I want but can’t bring myself to pay for is the Umberto Eco edited The Bond Affair.

I managed to borrow a copy of the Jon Gilbert Fleming bibliography which is amazing. I’d love to own that one day but it’s even more expensive than the Eco.
