- Spectre is the ultimate threat; the merciless international terrorist organisation led by James Bond's nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. In Thunderball, Spectre is holding the world to ransom with two stolen nuclear weapons and it is 007's duty to find them in time to prevent a global catastrophe. In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Bond disrupts Spectre's plan to destroy Britain from the inside, but little does he know victory will bring tragic consequences. In You Only Live Twice, grief-stricken and erratic, Bond is given one last chance to face his arch-enemy in a battle to the death.
Books are not immune to shameless money-grubbing. |

| I don't mind that they're rereleasing these novels. It makes sense and it's not like we're all gunna run out and get it because we've got them. But for people who might be keen on reading them for the first time, using the film to help advertise Fleming's novels is a great idea. |

| I remember when QOS was coming out that Penguin Books decided to combine all the short stories into one book and it was titled as such: That was actually perfect for me, because that was the year I was purchasing all the books, and it seemed more convenient to get this book instead of buying the two separate "For Your Eyes Only" and "Octopussy and the Living Daylights" compilation books. |

| Case in point. I imagine many QOS fans would have been disappointed when they came across the QOS short story!

More like the other way round. The PTS of the QOS film should've been Bond hearing the story of the chap and his bitch, as per the short story. Upon concluding that bitches be cray, Bond gets over Vesper and the rest of the movie can be enjoyable. |

| Last time I read that short story, I actually pictured Cumberbatch playing Philip Masters. Would be perfect casting, given how he seems to have knack for playing sullen people. |

| 'Batch would make a suitable Masters. Good thinking. |
