Afraid another Bond alumni has passed.

A bit heartbreaking to lose two staples of my childhood in one month. Besides The Avengers might give those Bond documentaries another go on the Blu-rays, his narration really gives them a sparkle.

Indeed Strangway. 93 is a fine age to reach but the Avengers (and his turn in VTAK) and I loved watching it as a kid (repeated here in the 90s) makes it heartwrenching.
Always great to see him in something regardless be it his small turn in Battle of the River Plate or a brief bit in Frasier as Derek Jacobi's randy father.
I dare say he helped VTAK by his rapport with Sir Roger even if it's that litle moment where Bond says let me help you there, and takes the umbrella followed by Macnee's "Thank you, sir."

So saddened to hear this. He and Sir Rog were fantastic together in their scenes together and added a touch a class to AVTAK.
Gives my viewing yesterday of AVTAK a little poignancy….
RIP, Sir Godfrey.

Another great contribution by Macnee for Bond was his narration of the "Inside" documentaries. I always liked those.

Clean forgot last night about his part in the original Galactica. The opening narration was part of what sold it and then somewhat odd Count Iblis not to mention Imperious Leader.

A very sad loss indeed, the Avengers remains one of my personal all time favourites and an essential part of my Televisual upbringing, not to mention my love of Bowlers and Bentleys.
