The Woman who invented James Bond?

Heads up for a Radio story due to be broadcast on BBC Radio Four this coming Saturday 10:30gmt apparently exploring the early life of Ian Fleming and potentially a woman who may not just have inspired the the writer to create James Bond but actually done the whole kit and caboodle herself.. Presumably she also had a time machine and wrote for Shakespeare as well between stints campaigning on behalf of the lgbt cause and her downtrodden ethnic roots ^^

And to follow on Radio 4 that afternoon at 2:30, the latest of their Fleming adaptations starring Toby Stephens as Bond ... Thunderball.

Interesting article. Phyllis Bottome may have also inspired the Bond girl name since hers is up there with the likes of Pussy Galore and Honeychile Ryder.
