Wasn't that well informed about Mie Hama. It was good of her to do the interview for the 50th anniversary of YOLT. Pity Connery didn't comment. Interesting that she's never seen or spoken to Connery again.

Interesting read. She's certainly not the first to spring to mind when one considers the pantheon of Bond Girls, so it's good to get her insights in this 50th year of YOLTage.

Its interesting to see a more modest actress like that. She had an important role in one of the biggest franchises to ever exist, and after it she just went on with her life and did all the other stuff that she was interested in. So many actresses and actors become utterly obsessed with Hollywood and fame after even a small taste, yet she didnt.

It's all the more surprising that she didn't get lured into the Hollywood frivolities, especially considering the suicidal threats she made when they considered firing her (for not speaking English well enough). I feel like she had a predisposition toward getting caught up in it all. Sure, it would have been disappointing for her, but it's a very juvenile, and possibly even an empty threat.
