| I'm guessing that would be a long list. Even just all of the bands who dabbled in the baby groupie phenomenon would all likely end up annihilated in the current climate.
I've thought of that in regard to someone like Jan Wolkers, who met his wife when he was 38 and she was - I believe - 16. It was something of a scandal even back in the day but nowadays I can't quite imagine what the reaction would be. |

| I'm a bit confused, if that was the intention of their presence all along, why not hire sex workers for the job? By employing women who were clearly not "up for it", it's sort of inviting this kind of scrutiny. |

| At this point, France should reverse the burqa ban and make them mandatory. |

| Does the woman only have bad takes? The NY Times piece doesn't put Tarantino in a great light, but if we are going to rubbish the oeuvre of every director who ever endangered one of his performers/actors for the good of his film, there won't be much left. I guess Hitch is out. So is Friedkin (just from the top of my head I remember that Ellen Burstyn got a chronic back injury from a stunt that involved a harness on "The Exorcist"). |

To be fair, it did cost John Landis a lot professionally. Especially his relationship with Steven Spielberg, which would have been invaluable for any director working in the 1980s. Though Landis' continued minimizing of his own responsibility in the tragedy is more than a bit distasteful. More broadly speaking, a lot of this is akin to people discovering how the sausage is made for the first time ever. |

You're going to have to tell me how this is a barely-known story compared to Roman Polanski and Samantha Gailey. Gender and white privilege seems to skewer all before it, particularly class consciousness. For example, the British media is full of how 2018 is the centenary of middle-class women getting the vote; hardly any of these news stories mention that 1918 was also the first time the ordinary working man got the vote. Airbrushed from history because it doesn't fit the privileged-woman-as-victim narrative. My point was merely that it wasn't as if John Landis just brushed off that incident and moved on. There is a definite before and after in his career following its aftermath. I'm not arguing that it was enough of a consequence for his level of responsibility in the tragic accident. Obviously there are creative people whose behavior did not cost the lives of three people, two of them children, who were made to pay a higher price than Landis was. You could even argue that perhaps he shouldn't have had a career at all after that. I'm not sure if it's a barely known story to be fair. I have been aware of it for ages. I'm sure most people who are even vaguely aware of John Landis' career will have heard the story. Though obviously Polanski's case is more well-known. |

| Now audio has surfaced in which Tarantino is defending Roman Polanski. I'm not sure if it's coordinated, but once blood is in the water, the sharks arrive from all directions. |

What is also airbrushed from history is how a significant number of (early) suffragists and suffragettes were quite racist. Still, Belgian women had to wait another 30 years for the right to vote and even then it was partially a cynical ploy by the Catholics, who had rightly assumed that a significant number of women would follow the voting instructions they received from the pulpit. Also why the socialists actively tried to block the female vote even then. |

| This is a very bad take. Obviously his fascination with strangling, like his foot fetish, is sexual in nature. |

It's also not like there being some sexual component in the Director-Actress relationship is something new. Even for those who don't actually sleep together. |

Meanwhile, 'Fifty Shades Freed' is number one at at the box office. That says more about the horrendous taste of some (primarily female in this case) moviegoers. |

This lawsuit is likely the first serious consequence that Weinstein has faced. |
