| I have heard good things about it, but my interest in the Royals is extremely limited. |

| My Whovian side was moved to enquire on here in the past how Matt Smith was as Phil The Greek (very good, CJB told me). |

| Matt Smith was very good, but Lithgow's Churchill was the true highlight in the supporting cast.
Excellent show, and looking forward to season 2. |

| Best production values of any show I can remember.
Acting is faultless all round. Princess Margaret is a babe. I hear this will be Foy's last stint as the Queen, given HM is expected to have a few more wrinkles in Season 3.
As Ambler has alluded to, a must watch for anyone with an inkling of interest in modern British history. |

| I hear Olivia Coleman is taking over from Claire Foy for season 3. |

| Season 2 definitely picks up in the latter half. The first half's marital dramas grew tedious swiftly.
The highlight of the season is, perhaps, the episode exploring Phil the Greek's childhood. On a similarly Fascistic note, honourable mention to the episode where Nazi Ed gets a richly deserved slapdown.
Low point? The jarringly offbeat episode where Princess Margaret spends 50 minutes being photographed.
Also, JFK was horribly miscast. Actors in period pieces typically look better than the figure they're portraying; this guy looked like a stereotypical college dorm Chad and didn't even try to mimic Kennedy's accent. |

| Second season was a bit of a waste, especially knowing it was the last they had Foy and Kirby. The first season had a better structure by focusing on the two sisters as the spine for the series. The second missed that and started to fall into the biographical trap of becoming a montage of 'moments'.
First season was a great political drama, I was relunctant to watch it but wound up binging it.
I would do unspeakable things to Vanessa Kirby. |
