I am looking forward to this. A dramatized account of the life of Jack Parsons, an early rocket scientist (and more or less the father of the JPL) who dabbled in the occult and had a (very) healthy sexual appetite.
The only thing I'm wondering about is how far CBS' streaming service can and will go in the more frivolous scenes of this adaptation.
In that respect, this show might have been a better fit for H.B.O.

If you mean he was an unconscionable womaniser then I agree. However, I don't think such things should be encouraged or tolerated. Not in a free society, anyway.

I don't know. To think Jack Parsons was chosen for glorification over his Guardian namesake Jack Monroe. Sometimes I despair of the world.

I had never heard of Jack Monroe until your post. 🤣

Apologies - didn't mean to derail your thread.

Strange Angel may well have been shopped to HBO after AMC ditched it. No idea how it then landed at CBS but it won't end well.

FWIW, I first heard of Parsons back in the early 1990s from some of the HOTOL/Skylon team. He seemed fairly well respected despite his nonsense.

It's not uncommon for great minds to also dabble in nonsense.
Even Sir Isaac Newton spent a great deal of his time on alchemy and the occult in general.
Nikola Telsa had his earthquake machine and death ray.
