| I put this in the last movie thread but what the hell, let's put it here.

You know, the way my mind works (and it does sometimes), I was on the train home listening to the DAD soundtrack and thought about Graves' knighthood. Now in theory, it does take a little time for it to come about and even people knighted outside, say celebrities, the charity types have been around a while. In theory, Graves has been only in the open what...fourteen months. Now unless I fell asleep at a crucial point, was Graves already an alias out there in the open? Was there a GG already walking about until Moon went over the waterfall and therefore was bumped off and replaced by the surgically altered Moon?
Otherwise, without sounding smart, gaining a knighthood from HMG in a year and two months is exceptional work by the Palace.
Not earth-shattering but the timeframe as far as Graves goes seems too short for him to become suddenly notably (at least knighthood notable) |

| Can't remember if it's in the movie or not (maybe I made it up), but I was always under the impression that Graves had done that much good with his fortune hence the quick turnaround of the knighthood and this spurs M's newfound interest in Graves. |

| I guess that would make sense. I sometimes think the timeframe isn't enough for the Graves popularity to take root but then it was 2002 and things moved differently then. No doubt Frost helped along the way as his 'PR'. |

| I wish more was done with her PR cover (might have helped explained all this) and her fencing background past with Moon. But it's a nice bit of character stuff that sets her apart from other agents/traitors. |

| Yeah, this bit of the movie never made sense.

| Well it's a given that technology in Bond films is going to be slightly fantastical (and you could include Graves' cultural appropriation face mask in that) but the notion that some bloke could spring up out of nowhere and in a few months be well known and respected enough to be knighted is just way too farfetched.
Analyse this, as Madonna might say. |

| Mikey G has said that they never cheat ... any tech in the movies is feasible, provided whoever's behind it has unlimited funds to throw at it. Was he including the likes of Moonraker's laser guns in that, I wonder? |

| Can only Gustav had mastered the sleep machine thingy a lot quicker than Zao was expected to. That's one month of the fourteen shaved off. Hoho |
