Well, I'm glad I spurred this thread on somewhat
Indeed chaps, I think Brosnan presently was the last Bond to seem comfortable in a suit (beyond comfortable actually) whereas poor old Craig seems ill at ease, ill-fitting in one. The adjustment of his watch did make me smile in Skyfall but somehow Brosnan edges it out of the two. The tank moment in Goldeneye, even before his "they'll print anything these days" line how he sorts himself out and so on.
Otherwise the TWINE PTS is where my interest often seems to feature.

The GE suits/tailoring/hairstyle is edgier as it is one every first film with the new actor. TND-DAD it seems much more attenuated to Pierce's own style and the Brioni partnership did seem to work well-though I'd argue it doesn't have the personality of what came before.
Outside of the Suits of Bond page the tailoring/fashion isn't discussed and pre-2006 it actually played a big part in each film/era. Most notable was Dalton's who wore the clothes expected but in such a way as to suggest Bond's internal outsider status and his chafing under restrictions of bureaucracy. Some claim it's too 80's but it was also in the way Tim moved in them that felt honest and lived in-exactly the manner in which Sean does in DN/FRWL with the Young supervised clothes vs. The flashier GF vest suit and YOLT/DAF being more functional. Roger was also the most effortless in every avenue of clothing whether it was in RN uniform, winter gear, ski gear, athletic gear, tactical gear, tux in black or white, gorilla suit, circus suit, clown costume, foreign military disguise, vaquero gear, desert traveler gear and of course the badass of badass safari suit. Also he was great in the rugged I don't know quite what you call it functional vest from FYEO/OP.
I LOATHE that moment in SF of the cuff adjustment. It shows the automation without any pretense and he looks literally like a street tug in an ill fitting modern suit in every inch of the frame. Not to mention its so forced and feels so unnatural unlike Brozzer's lovely nods and where they originally came from.

I did actually think of that printing press sequence in TND, Hilly. It immediately came to mind as a time when Bond could wear a suit and look "natural" doing it, even in the midst of an action scene.

It's a testament to the benefit of what you might call timeless styles that the Ray Ban wayfarers from over 50 years are still widely worn while most of Bond's subsequent shades were "trendy" at the time of filming and now look awful.

The Ray Bans still look good, the Brosnan and Craig ones are fine too. I'd say time's been least kind to Rog's.
Excuse the 'Dad joke', but I'm amused to be discussing sunglasses in a thread partially titled 'Favourite Frames'.

Rog had the grave misfortune to wear 80s shades. Not a good decade for that particular accessory, I fear...
Too bad Seanery didn't sport sunglasses more often.

I must confess I didn't know we had a Suits of Bond page. Or if it's a webpage, maybe we should have a Suits of Bond thread. (Long day at work).
Funny how most of the Bond's have a way of moving in a suit unique to them (I don't expect them to be robots) but I instantly conjure Lazenby strolling into the hotel after parking up or indeed, coming into the casino. More is the pity we didn't get that with him into Las Vegas' casinos.
Moore always epitomised class, more-so as Brett Sinclair in the Persuaders.

great minds think alike. It's how he slightly shrugs himself into smartness, having just pulverised some goon. Unlike Sir Roger and to a point, Connery, he doesn't seem to fit the Navy uniform comfortably (in terms of stride) but TND is classic style on par with TWINE.
I can't summon DAD to mind but it's not quite full of such moments (the only one would be him in the hotel lobby and he's not exactly dressed for the occasion).

All dad jokes welcome here. We don't discriminate.

Combination the tailoring and the actor wearing it.
