I'd had Fleming's Thrilling Cities on my read list for some time, and since I am heading to Hawaii for the first time next week, it became a motivating factor to get it done.
I just finished his Honolulu chapter and after a quick google search of some of the restaurants/hotels he mentioned, I learned many have closed - which is understandable considering it was 60 years ago when Fleming documented his travels. That said, any tips from BAB travellers who've been to Hawaii and read Thrilling Cities to help emulate the kind of trip Fleming himself went on? Or any other suggestions of sights and experiences, preferably those that go beyond the tourist spots.
