Would anybody like to see more Non official Bond films made?...Given how Never say never again turned out i can guess most of the immediate responses to this question but the film did have a number of fans. If the legalities were not an issue would you like to see another studio making Bond or are you happier waiting four years between instalments for the real deal? If with hindsight the film were to turn out like NSNA i would most definitely be against the idea but i'm sure curiousity would eventually have me go watch it.

What is the existing thread? laugh

As for the topic at hand, well... we could get a little philosophical with it all. Is Eon's current output the real deal?

Thing is, the legalities ARE an issue and that's why NSNA suffers from the very start (not allowed to use the gunbarrel opening soundtracked by the Bond theme to 'set the mood').

I guess there's always the franchises that are LIKE Bond (Mission : Impossible and Kingsman, for example) to scratch that spy action-thriller itch.

Yes, the gunbarrel certainly sets a mood but I think looking at something like Skyfall disproves that. Similarly, I imagine if a faithful, period-set Fleming adaptation series was made, it would feel as authentic and "canon" as the likes of FRWL, OHMSS, FYEO, TLD or GE without the need of tropes like the gunbarrel.

So if legalities weren't an issue, I'd no longer have qualms about a Dalton or Brosnan starring, "unofficial" Bond film bringing them back one last time. The November Man, with a few tweaks, could certainly be Brosnan's 5th Bond film, for example.
