The Nordic music scene

German/Danish/Norwegian  band HEILUNG(German for healing)  was formed 2014. They base their lyrics on runic inscriptions. Three studio albums 2015-2022. This is from their third, DRIF:

Icelandic musician Kaktus Einarsson started out in 2008. Known from the band (Captain) Fufanu. Son of Einar Ørn from Sugarcubes and Ghostigital. Two albums since 2021. This is from the latest, LOBSTER CODA:

Finnish band A TERGO LUPI was formed 2018. Two albums released, in 2019 and 2022. This is from their 2nd, HIDE:

Faroese singer/songwriter Eivør Palsdottir has been active as a recording artist since 1999 (with the band Clickhaze). 14 albums 2000-2024. This is from her 11th, SLØR (Veil):

Norwegian band KVELD (Evening) have released seven albums 2020-2023.This is from their latest, ELDSANGER I (Fire songs I), which consists of reworked versions of songs on their debut ANTRIHIDA:

EERA is the pseudonym of Norwegian Anna Lena Bruland. She released her debut album in 2017 This is from her second album SPEAK which came out in 2021:

Norwegian band VAZELINA BILOPPHØGGERS started out in 1979. (They actually started out as Bajage the year before, but changed their name when they hired their bus driver on drums, and changed their style to accomodate him. He was an auto wrecker, hence the new name.) Most known for putting Norwegian humorous lyrics to older rock and pop classics. 17 albums 1980-2007.

Norwegian artist LINDY-FAY HELLA started out early in the century in the duo Ullan Gensa. She joined WARDRUNA shortly thereafter, and has in addition released three solo albums 2019-2024, the last two credited as LINDY-FAY HELLA & DEI FARNE (The Gone).Whispering Void is yet another band recently formed.

Norwegian band TRELLDOM (Slavery) was formed 1992. So far three albums 1995-2007. This is a new single from their upcoming fourth:

JONNA JINTON is a Swedish artist, filmmaker and musician who only releases music on the internet as far as I know.

Norwegian/Swedish band KALANDRA started out in 2020. This is a live rendition of a song from their debut album THE LINE, out now:

TOMMY TOKYO was the pseudonym of Norwegian singer/songwriter Tommy Lorange Ottosen, who sadly passed away a couple years ago. 1999-2001 he was a member of the band Piggyback, then went solo, occasionally working with the backing band Starving For My Gravy, consisting of musicians from various other bands. Alone, seven albums 2002-2022. As TOMMY TOKYO AND STARVING FOR MY GRAVY two albums 2008-2010, and as TOMMY TOKYO & DE BIPOLARE one album from 2016.

Norwegian band THE SWAMP BABIES was formed 1987. They were disbanded in 1993, but reformed around 2010 for touring. Not sure for how long, if they are still going. One double album compilation released in 2006: TWISTED TALES OF LUST, HATE AND VIOLENCE...AND A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE.

Norwegian band GORGOROTH was founded 1992. It has seen many members come and go, but the founder himself, guitarist Infernus (calling himself "Satan´s minister on Earth"), is still on board. Ten albums 1994-2015. This is from their debut PENTAGRAM:

RUNAHILD is Frenchwoman Brenda Dahl, who has lived in Norway for the last 14 years. Her music project started in 2016. Nine albums since 2017. This is from her third, SEIDSANG.

JOHAN HALVORSEN was a Norwegian violinist, music professor, conductor and composer whose career lasted from the 1880s until his death in the 1930s. Incidentally married to Grieg´s niece.

Finnish band WHITE RUNE was formed 2021, and has so far released one album in 2022, DAWN OF THE WHITE RUNE. This is from a 2021 demo, THE ETERNAL FIRES OF CLEANSING:
