That song that has someone singing about going to Boston. Plays at my store radio all the time and I CAN'T FUCKING STAND IT.
I especially can't stand anything by All American Rejects.

That narrows it down. ;)

I'm sensing Coldplay involvement......
As for me, lately I'm getting real sick of lazy-assed cheap knock-offs of old songs, like where some random Tinchy Stryder/Tinie Tempah/Professor Green-alike will just stick an old song on and just "rap" crap over it and shout his own name a few times to try and pass it off as his own to dumbasses who'll then make it their ringtone, let it off on the bus and "sing" along to the whole f*cking thing. Feels like that sh*t is everywhere right now. LOLZ generation need blowtorches taking to their ears.
That scene in Mars Attacks comes to mind, where the songs being played are so bad that the music causes instant death to those who subject themselves to it. If only.

Personally, I hate:
Anything like Avenge Sevenfold, Nickelback, or Creed Coldplay Green Day Shit like Slipknot and Korn Naturally, any kid-friendly shit like Mylee Cirus, Justin Beebner, and the Jonas Brothers Any rapper that mumbles about raping, sodomizing, and/or murdering women and rival gang members (in other words, most rap music) And fucking Blink 182. I really fucking hate them.
Phish was popular amongst my friends, but I really don't think they're all that awesome, either.
If Katy Perry showed me her tits, then I'd like her.

I don't mind Coldplay, but they won't be the first thing I want to listen to.
Green Day I could never get into. Actually, I saw them live and that was the only time I really enjoyed listening to them. After that show I tried listening to their greatest hits album. Few songs in I just tossed the disc aside and popped in some Van Halen.
I've been out of the loop on pop music since 2002, since then looking back at older music like Led Zeppelin and Van Halen, and especially film scores.

I find Snoop Doggy Dogg's debut album "Doggystyle" to be a guilty pleasure. Kinda helps that he doesn't take himself seriously in any way in that album, while a lot of rappers today like 50 Cent brag about getting shot nine times over and over. Big fucking deal. Meanwhile Snoop's just rapping about big screen tv's. Everyone loves big screen tv's.
But that's the only album I like of his, I don't care much for his later work.

You've pretty much summed up everything I hate (though I don't mind nickleback, especially given a lot of the other rubbish that's around). I'll also add Lady Gaga, Rhianna, and all other "artists" like that.

Most rap, dance, R 'n' B, girl and boy bands and any acts who come off of a TV talent show leave me wanting to perforate my own eardrums to spare myself their 'output'.
It's not even 'Grumpy Old man' syndrome, either ... I can remember hating that shit when I was 25 as well .

It's not "Grumpy Old Man" syndrome for me, either. It's just a matter of the music being plain-old bad.
Look at these lyrics to 50 Cent's "The Good Die Young":
[Fifty talking to himself] Yo, you know what I want? I want the beat to drop right..now niggas be thinkin' I'm crazy right? you are crazy.. I ain't crazy... you are crazy.... at least I don't think I'm crazy I think my shit is hot, I think I'm hot you hot but you crazy.. why they wanna?..man..I don't know...
[Verse 1:] It's the money that - makes shit get ugly It's the money that - makes these hoes love me It's the money that - makes niggas wanna slug me man..I thought the money would make it all lovely Yo, I actually write what I do or see the felonies from day to day make me say what I say when I die my art will be worth more than Picasso's, don't cry for me, smile for me and if you see them niggas that wet me, wile' for me remember the good times, the chips we stacked the clips we packed and all the bricks we cooked from coke to crack let my tombstone read "I Tried" and from the start everything I wrote was from my heart so it'll always be number one on my chart I get sensitive with my shit, don't fuck with my art sometimes it sounds like I'm playin' but I'm sayin' this shit is real, it ain't a game.
[Chorus] They say the good die young, I guess these grimy niggas live a long time, sit in fancy whips, sip champagne and shine, keep your eyes on yours while I keep my eyes on mine. [Repeat]
[Verse 2:] First it happened to Stretch then to Pac and Big I'm convinced it can happen to anybody kid so I get vest up when I get dressed up in the hood it's messed up, niggas runnin' 'round shootin' shit up if it's Dom that you drinkin' fill up my cup if your gossiping about me, shut the fuck up why do niggas act like they hard when they know they butt? and gettin' robbed ain't a good time to press ya luck duke listen, if you move I'm gonna hurt you you'll get your turn to shine later, patience is a virtue right now what you need to do is gimme the cash forget about your Boss bein' mad, just save ya ass be a good Boy now, go and get your stash I seen you throw it next to the garbage can like it was trash alright run along before I shoot ya ass I hate to do this to you but I really need this cash.
[Chorus 2X]
[Verse 3:] I know we all gotta go, but I'd hate to go fast then again I don't think it'd be fun to stick around and go last man listen, if you really really like this shit nigga call Steve Stoute and I'll write ya shit call him now before I drop for real 'cause after I drop I'm gonna be chargin' you all niggas like Forty a pop to each his own, me? I got it while it was cheap typical mentality, I know, I'm straight from the street 1999's the year of the predator, I'm killin' to eat niggas'll treat you like a egg, you come to cop you get beat gimme your dough, oh, you wore your jewels? what a treat you're a generous guy take 'em off or die man, we hurtin' 'round here, ain't nobody slingin' pies look around, ain't nobody 'round here fly why you 'round here with this shit anyway? huh? you high? see, you done made the wrong move, kiss your ass goodbye.
"This shit is real it ain't a game." There's just nothing articulate about it. There's nothing complex or thought-out. You see no word play, and no use of other literary techniques aside from rhyming--and he does that quite sloppily.
I remember when Ambler would recommend rapper Necro, or someone like him, as the next Bond theme performer, too.
Just shit. Just fucking shit...

I can't stand Ska. At all. There's something about it that I find intensely annoying.
I don't understand Death Metal at all. Makes no sense whatsoever.
That frikkin' New York song - something about a concrete bubble where dreams are made sh**e - that makes me want to commit wholesale murder whenever I hear it. As does some firework song by some bird who is less musical than my tom cat, and who seems to have stolen Baldrick's poem from Blackadder Goes Forth - "Boom, boom, boom, boom..."
Any Whitney Houston. And Mariah Carey. She only sings that high so that even dogs can hate her. Apparently she has an eight octave range. And she can't sing in any of 'em. Ima Sumak was the same, apparently.

When that was first released, I'd hear it every time I went grocery shopping (as they play music over the PA system there).
Now I hear it about once every two weeks...

Maybe whoever shot him those 9 times before would like to have another go, concentrating more on the head area this time.
On the other hand though, I'm not sure I could bear the inevitable 'tribute' records.

Yeah. Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Rakim, Ice T, Chuck D, Flava Flav, Biggie, Common, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, Mos Def. To name a few.
For the record, I fucking can't stand most mainstream hip hop. Factory produced, derivative, material obsessed, talentless garbage.
