Looks like TB is cruising to yet another elimination-game victory.
From my perspective, the Sean factor overrides all other factors in this game. Thus Sean's mere presence renders his 6 films, top-6 ranking.
Of the Sean canon, I would rank TB only 4th behind, DAF, GF and DN.
Largo and Domino IMO pale in comparison to such iconic combos as GF and Pussy and No and Honey. But the inspired eccentricity of Gray as Blofeld and St. John as Tiffany elevate DAF to #1 IM oh so HO.
YOLT 5th btw, FRWL 6th and OHMSS 7th. So 4 of my top-7 cracked the top 4 and 6 cracked the top-9.

Interesting results - the lowly position of YOLT and the high position of DAF are the biggest surprises to me, my personal top 5 would see GF replace DAF but otherwise is nicely harmonious ^^.

Exactly. I actually like Rog and Stromberg, but Bach is so dreadfully godawful that she drags down the whole trio.

There's not a great difference between Pierce and Rog, but Yeoh, despite being the ultimate Rambette, is a solid step up from Anya (another Rambette, incidentally), and the same can be said for Carver, a character I adore, and Stromberg.

I'd say both Yeo and Bach were awful but for different reasons. Yeo was way too Rambette. I sensed Agent comaraderie between Bond and her, but not a spark of romance; and the filmmakers did seem to be reluctant to push the romance angle. Wai Lin seemed quite disinterested in Bond, until the absolute very end, when he groped her underwater. But who knows, she might have been delirious even then.

Bach on the other hand was faux-rambette. She was convincing as a sex-kitten though. When her dress slinked off, I believed that. That was solid acting. Otherwise, all her lines and facial expressions should have been dubbed. She did strike that deadly karate-chop pose though. That used to scare me. :shock:

Fittingly in her next film Caveman, she had no lines whatsoever. She paraded about in skimpy animal fur, and did a fine job, I must say. Not as good as Linda Harrison as Nova, in Planet of the Apes, but still a worthy effort, none the less.

Yep, timmer. Wai Lin was too much of a cold fish for my tastes. Cold fish < Sex kitten. Anya wins for me. Plus, I liked the whole "Bond kills her KGB agent lover" subplot. Gives their relationship an added spice. In the TND/TSWLM triad battle, the Carver/Stromberg one is the closest IMHO.

IMHO Stromberg is a classic Bond super-villain. Not at the same level as the Fleming super-villians such as No, Blofeld and Goldfinger, but he is cut from the same mold, much like movie Drax.

Carver never quite grabbed me though. The guy didn't have a decent lair.

I think that's pretty much been a standard problem of the post-Ken Adam era of Bond. Carver did kind of remind me of Charles Gray's Blofeld.

TLD is painfully high. As is DAF. There's no way YOLT deserves last place. Stoked on the MR love, and that OHMSS came in second.

TB being ahead of FRWL in terms of ensemble is also criminal. FRWL probably had the best ensemble cast of ANY Bond movie.
