I love Whedon, but Dollhouse just didn't work for me. It felt a lot like a bunch of half-baked ideas from his other, cancelled, good, shows thrown together in a desperate last ditch effort.

I agree with your appraisal of the show, Ambler. Dushku just doesn't have the acting chops to lead a show that requires her to play a different personality every week.

I believe Whedon briefly considered giving the part to Amy Acker instead (who ended up playing the doctor). I suspect the show would have been better and more believable had he done so.

You should give it a try, I found Firefly far superior to Dollhouse. There are only a handful of Dollhouse episodes I would put up against even the worst episodes of Firefly.

"Epitaph one" certainly. Than there was the one in which the truth about Alpha and dr. Saunders was revealed. Cannot recall the name of that episode.
