Popular rumour has it that Q will be returning to the franchise with SKYFALL, with Ben Whishaw the favoured candidate for the role. But with Q comes gadgets. This thread is a place to come up with ideas for gadgets that Bond could use. I think the challenge is to find something that is larger than life without being science fiction. Nobody wants a repeat of the invisible car, but at the same time, we don't want to end up with Bond basically using an iPhone for everything (the Jeffrey Deaver approach).

For a start, Bond's car, the Jaguar C-X16:

Natutally, it comes with a few non-factory extras:
- "Heat stealth", a system of pipes in the engine bay. Liquid nitrogen is pumped through them to keep the engine cool, rendering the car almost invisible to thermal imaging.
- A series of deadbolts concealed in the doors. When activated, these ram into place in the body of the car, making it impossible to open the doors and immobilising the car, turning it into a mobile prison.
- GPS connectivity ... but rather than linking to a GPS satellite, it connects to a local spy satellite in real-time.
- A film over the windows that can neutralise (or at least minimise) the effects of a flash-bang grenade.
- An in-car radio that doubles as a radio scanner, allowing Bond to eavesdrop on conversations, triangulate enemy positions and isolate/filter out individual sounds.

And, of course, his field equipment:
- A dummy zippo lighter. Pushing down on the plunger three times sprays a fine mist of an anaesthetic. Bond can use it to remove a sentry from the field.
- A spray similar to Luminol (used in crime scenes) concealed in a cologne bottle. When sprayed on a document, is makes watermarks and holographic security markers visible to the naked eye.
- "Lock-busters", cigarettes with low-density plastic explosive concealed in the filter. Bond insters the filtered end into a lock, then lights the other end, starting a five-second fuse to an explosive that will break a door lock. Could also be used as a nasty anti-personnel weapon.

Your turn.
