The prices that store ask are € 12,99 for the solo DVD's, € 16,99 for the solo BD, € 16,99 for the 2 movies dvd set and € 19,99 for the 2 movies BD set.


20th Century Fox release the orginal QOS BD and 1 disc dvd in 2009 and there re-release the BD of QOS in 2010. So don't expect new things, i think we should expect there yusing the 2007 disc's of CR (Means the first disc of the 2 CE dvd and solo BD.). It is a bit strange that Fox don't give a wide re-release of the in my country only limited 2 disc DVD of QOS.

Keep in mind it is fresh news, so things can changed or the release can complete gone.

From the single releases of the movies there are not pictures yet.
The BD Boxset possible wil have this new BD in it because the pictures look like almoost the same as Uk one. Mabey this explan why QOS in that Uk Boxset say Dutch subtitels whyle the previous Uk release don't have Dutch Subs and that also count for CR. So the solo CR one Dutch version possible wil be the same as Uk too because CR for The uk boxset also say Dutch subs. For both count previous releases don't share with The Netherlands. That Uk follows The Netherlands isn't a big suprise because previous UE on dvd (and Die Another Day SE) shared earlier and all of them be uncut in Uk for the first time whyle in The Netherlands that always be the case before already.

My store just recieved the Bond 50 box sets to prep for their Sept. 25th release. They're surprisingly small for something that holds 22 Blu Rays. About the same size as those collectors edition boxes for Ben Hur and The Wizard Of Oz.

I don't like the cardboard sleeve layout, though. I'd prefer if they sold them packed in individual Blu Ray cases like the SE release so I can throw away the box and just sort them like normal movies.

I've already taken a quick look at OHMSS, and it's looking pretty damn good!

Amazon Canada has knocked the price down to $174.99, but the Poster Book for $10.00 offer seems to have disappeared.

The new price works out to $7.95 a movie which is darn reasonable for blu-ray.

If you only need the 9 newly released films, then you are paying $19.44 a disc with the other 13 films as throw-in duplicates. That actually isn't a bad price for the new discs, although once the new titles find their way into single release, I don't think it will take long to find them at $10.00 a pop.

I think I'll wait. The 13 blu-rays that I already have display quite nicely. I don't need the whole box set. I figure I will be able to very shortly pick up the 9 new titles for a total outlay of $90.00 roughly, with the added bonus of being able to display them individually on the shelf.

It even comes with a disc space reserved for Skyfall! so come 2013 your set is not mixed.

I have better things to waste 80 quid on, right now.

I am still battling with myself over whether or not I shall puchase this set, despite it being a bargain.

The only way I will buy this set for definate is if they have fixed many of the errors from the 'Ultimate Editions' (the cropping on many of the films, the subtitles from FRWL and TLD, the colour of the blood in Largo's pool from TB, the camera-shake from AVTAK, the original burned-in titles from some of the films etc etc).

I will buy it and give away duplicates to friends....like the ones I swap nasty pics with.

You're hip to the whole collectables buying and selling market. You could put the old ones on EBay. Then again they may not fetch anymore than what you originally paid.

Singles for me, a few at a time. First off, TSWLM which looks to be the outstanding new release. I simply cannot believe how good this looks.

There are original artwork cards inside though, that you can pass around and show to family and friends. HMV was promoting this add-on as an exclusive. Might have been just HMV UK.

It's on sale for $150 on Amazon. I'm tempted.

Yeah likewise I opted for Amazon and no lobby cards.....also slightly annoyed the box in such an odd dimension a bit like the 'Planet of the Apes' it seems designed not to fit any shelf known to creation.

You lucky bastards. Now possessing three classics YOLT, OHMSS and DAF in blu-ray. I'm still waiting for the single releases. Sucks, as I really want to see the hi-def treatments in particular, of these 3 great looking films. I find the older Bond movies benefit most from the transfer to blu-ray. Maybe its the 4k treatment they got.

I've been going through the flicks just to see how they look and sound, here are my thoughts. The blu-rays released in 2008-2009 had the DTS tracks reworked so that they would sound more or less like the original sound mixes, unlike the 2006 DTS mixes for the UE DVDs. However, the remaining 9 films debuting on blu have not had the DTS tracks reworked so they're the same as the 2006 DVDs. That's including the infamous gun shots heard on OHMSS that sound out of place. But here's the good news:

All the films have the original sound mix available in mono for DN-TMWTGG and surround stereo for TSWLM-LTK, so you can enjoy them with the original Bond sound as they were heard in their day.

Also some stuff that got messed up in the UE DVDs has been fixed for blu. For example GE is no longer cropped up. Here's a pic of how it looked on the UE DVD (I captured it years ago when I did DVD comparisons). The framing for blu is now pretty much on par with the SE DVD.




If anyone has any questions about the blus, I am happy to oblige!

Shame that the DTS mixes weren't reworked for the rest of the Blu's. Tell me at least that the excessive cropping from the PTS of AVTAK is gone.

Also, would you say for a guy that doesn't even have a proper HD set, let alone a Blu Ray player, that the Blu's would be worth the upgrade? I still have the old SE DVD's and never bothered to get the UE's after all the issues I've heard about them.

If you don't have an HDTV and blu-ray player, but still have the SE DVDs, I'd say stick with them as they look fine on old TVs. But if you're serious about upgrading to HD beyond Bond, I'd say the set or individual titles are definitely worth upgrading for picture quality and bonus features.

If you do have the HDTV and player but still have the UE DVDs, then I'd say it's mandatory to upgrade just for picture quality and the original mix tracks alone. I know those using the region for the UK especially got fucked over the UE DVDs as none of them feature the original sound mix options, and even in R1 not all the titles have the original mixes (LALD, TSWLM, FYEO).

BIG UPDATE!

Okay, so the info regarding CR in the set is that it carries none of 2008 Collector's Edition special features (only "Becoming Bond", "James Bond for Real" and "Chris Cornell Music Video"). That has been spread across the net for awhile and treated as official info.

The CR disc in the blu-ray set does indeed carry the extra stuff that was released on the 2008 blu-ray . In fact, the entire menu system has been redone to fit in with all the previous films format, which was a real surprise for me. Here is the complete list of special features:

I suspect that these could not be included because they couldn't fit. The 2008 blu-ray was a two-disc set, therefore for the single disc in the Bond 50 set they had to pick and choose which would make the cut.

I have no clue why EON only listed the three features in the descriptions online.

Snigle 2007 disc have 3 features, Cornell and promotion trailers. If there have deside to yuse the first disc from the 2 disc CE from 2008 you have the commentary and picture in picture, but missing ththings from the 2007 edition. Now you miss the commentary and picture and picture.

Why there also remove the Bond Girls Are Forever feature, mabey there audio problems:

I missing a bit more information about the audio. The single 2007 edition BD having a DD 5.1 448 track, the first disc first of the 2 CE 2008 edition have Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track (means 640 i think.). The first disc of the 2 CE 2007 dvd have a 448 track and first disc from the Dutch 3 disc CE 2008 dvd a 384 track.

So the quistion be what audio track this new CR disc have ?. Atleast with removing the Bond Girls Are Forever you expect atleast again a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track. Sony earlier have some troubles with Extented cut of The Davincie code (174 minutes + 39 minutes feature. ) who yusing a DD 5.1 448 track in English and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track in France. CR be 144 minutes + 56 minutes of bonus material. 13 minutes less of total time. Possible the Dutch/Uk version of CR having English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and France DD 5.1 and France version a France Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and English DD 5.1.

Mabey that only count for the American version. This is what i wrote on the Mi6forums a couple of days back before i read you message now. As you can read above it is not possible to at more then 69 minutes of bonus footage above the 144 minutes of the movie. If only one audio track mabey then it is possible to more. At this moment there isn't any review yet about The Dutch version of the box.

Note: QOS disc in the Dutch version of the box is the old Dutch disc and the disc in Uk box don't have subtitels means that only 21 of the 22 movies have Dutch subtitels in Uk box. This also means that QOS disc in the Uk CR/QOS combopack and the solo QOS new dvd and BD disc don't have Dutch subtitels.

I'm going to Best Buy to get it for 150. I just had to make it sure it had the original sound.

I already watched DN-DAF recently. I guess my Bond Blu-ray adventures will begin with LALD. Not til next week, though. I'll be out of town shooting a webseries for the next several days.

Looked through some of the discs (DN, OHMSS, TSWLM, LTK) and WOW. I may go through the first seven again in a couple weeks in the lead-up to SKYFALL.

Great to be able to see TSWLM and FYEO with the original stereo, and OHMSS looks fantastic.

I now have two obsolete sets of Bond DVDs. I kept the original for sentemental value (I still remember eagerly coming home from school to find packages on my porch) but I may get rid of them.
