Even if both are true, it still doesn't exonerate Abbott. Hodges couldn't have leaked details of Abbott's location if Abbott hadn't said anything in the first place. Sorry, 'confront' should be 'respond'... don't want to verbal them. But yes, that's true by all accounts of the story. And again, I repeat: He was asked the specific question about the Tent Embassy. At a press conference. By a journalist.What was he supposed to do, refuse to answer? Please explain to me how you rationalise that as being the wrong place and time to comment on it. We'll set aside the fact that Abbott probably has more first hand experiences in Aboriginal communities than any other politician in Parliament and is probably better positioned to comment than say, Christine Milne. |

From what I hear on the matter things indeed happend as you described them. Note here the journalist in question was not asked to voice this particular question prior to the occasion. |
