Channeling Frankie Boyle only works at a certain time and place. Like at Ambler's funeral, for instance.

My funeral will be at sea and attended by sharks.
Re Houston's reputed $100M fortune, it's interesting how she chose to spend it on consuming as much crack as possible, while some others with wealth use their money for more serious ends. (In Paul Allen's case, the commercial exploration of space.) Bizarre species, humans. I'm glad I'm not one.

I'm a bit surprised she didn't die bankrupt, or close to it.

I thought she did? I suppose it's all speculation at this point.

Doubt we'll be seeing those cliches as it looks like she died from mixing alcohol with prescription drugs.
Trust me, we'll see those cliches. I've already been seeing them. It happens with almost everyone who dies famous and somewhat young. The truth is she was a lifelong crackhead and was probably never going to get any better because she surrounded herself with fellow lowlifes.

That's very good. However, repeat that joke in the UK and you're probably going to jail.

Whitney went from this:
to this:
and this:
I'm sorry, but I have no tolerance, sympathy or patience for people who willingly choose drugs and throw away an entire life and natural talent in order to chase the brown tiger and a little booger sugar.
When I saw on the tv Saturday night that she'd been found dead, I was surprised for all of about 2 seconds, then I remember: 'Yep, that was Whitney. We all knew this day was coming.' Her descent was one of the most startling implosions I have ever seen for a person who did not appear to have had any major trauma or life-changing experiences that would cause someone to turn to drugs. She was raised in a church. She was a beautiful woman. Had access to millions of dollars and powerful people and she threw it all away.
Damn the CIA and Whitey for creating crack!!!! :x

Gravy, even in that top pic she doesn't look quite right. Pretty to be sure, but those eyes seem to deflect more reality than they admit.

Whitney Houston "the singer" did die a few years ago.

Agreed. I gave up on her a long, long time ago, just as I did with Michael Jackson. What was left of the two of them was simply the shell of a human being; the feint trace of remains from what they once were.

What about this one:
or this:
Those were back in the days of 1986-87 with the big, crimped hair, the sparkled or acid-washed jeans, the neon bracelets and earrings....but it was good, clean fun. She was a beautiful young woman. Where did it go so tragically wrong????

Those eyes could have also been stressed out from all the publicity she got that night. She'd just won a Grammy; I'm sure she was tired.

You know I like you, BI, but that's in extremely poor taste.
Bit of a weakness of mine sometimes I'm afraid, Khanners ... I recall having a joke about Michael Jackson being melted down and turned into plastic cups so that kids could put their lips on HIS rim for a change removed from MI6 on grounds of 'offensiveness'.

I can't say I ever was a huge fan of Houston's music, but it's hard to argue against the fact that she had a truly exceptional voice (until her lifestyle choices destroyed even that).
How many of today's starlets could manage a live performance like this one?
It's interesting to note that her fans seem to shift the blame to Bobby Brown. But who exactly forced her to stay with that parasite for so long?

I doubt she would have bothered with that travesty of a world tour (was it one or two years ago?) if she had been rolling around in millions.

She was hooked on cocaine and heroin, so she wasn't thinking irrationally. She was under his spell.
