Bond is decidedly British, though his tastes are international.

The best British Ale's don't really travel well so outside their home country and sometimes outside their home county can be a step too far.

And quite the reason why Bond would prefer to enjoy the local brew wherever this scene takes place, China or otherwise, rather like in the novels.

I doubt he'd select a major international brand overseas - unless they were paying his producers an awful lot of cash, of course

Yeah, but that doesn't appear to be the scene where he drinks it. That just seems to be background product placement.

The scene where Bond actually *drinks* the stuff is him on a beach, presumably in the interim between the PTS and his return to London:

FWIW, I'm sure Heineken is available in China. The Cultural Revolution ain't what it used to be.

Tsingtao is pretty dreadful stuff.

Anyway, the scene doesn't appear to take place in China, but somewhere in the Mediterranean region.

It would be like Lada partnering to make FYEO, OP, AVTAK or TLD.

Bond wandering off to get M sloshed on Heineken before dogging her in the nearby woodlands. What are the odds that's the next plot leak? Bond's family castle will be in the background just to give it that all-important emotional intensity.
